I have an emachines e442-v634 w/ Windows 7 Home Premium installed. I tried to remove the bottom cover when the machine stopped working with a blue error screen and, I think a cable or wire got...

Hello,
I would suggest you check the BIOS if everything is detected properly. Like the hard drive and the memory. If both are working properly and being detected by BIOS properly, then you just might need to install your Windows 7 thru USB. You might need to use a different computer to convert your Win 7 OS DVD to USB installer.
1. Use a different computer w/ DVD 2. Use ISO software to convert the Win7 DVD to ISO 3. Download the converter from this link click here or directly from this link 4. Make sure you have an available USB Flash Disk that has a capacity of 4GB or higher. 5. Once you're done converting the Win7 DVD to an ISO file, use the tool above to convert the ISO file into a USB installer.
This will only work if your hard drive is properly detected. Bootmgr error means 2 things, either the hard drive is not detected or corrupted windows installation.
Hope this helps!

No bootable device insert boot disk and press any key acer aspire 5741g. Then I turn on my acer aspire 5741g . This is my problem. Can you help me ?

The notebook cannot detect the hard disk when you turn on the notebook.
First - re-seat the harddisk and reboot the computer. If the computer does not boot up then reboot andgo into the BIOS configuration to see if the BIOS detects the hard drive. If itdoesn't detect the hard drive then it could be faulty. Next - to check if the harddrive is faulty, remove the hard drive and insert it into an USB hard drive adapter and connect it to a workingcomputer's USB port. If this computer cannot see itas an external hard drive and you cannot open the various folders and files, this confirms the hard drive is faulty. Then the hard drive needsto be replaced in the computer/laptop, Windows installed and the computer orlaptop's device drivers plus your programs etc. to get a functioningcomputer/laptop again.

How to do system recovery on aspire one

Hi you should be able to do the following, if not you will need an external CD drive & recovery disk.

1. Consider what data you still need from your Acer Aspire One's hard drive. Save the files to an external USB device.

2. Restart the Acer Aspire One's operating system. Wait for the Acer logo to appear on the LCD screen.

3. Press the "Alt" and "F10" keys at the same time to bring up the recovery menu. Press "Enter."

4. Click "Next." Follow the prompts that appear on the screen to restore the operating system back to factory settings.

5. Use the drop-down boxes to select the time zone and language information for your Acer Aspire One. Restart the netbook when you are prompted to finish restoring the computer.

6. Connect the external USB device to your Acer Aspire One and transfer the data you saved earlier back to the netbook.

Warning:
It is possible to delete the hard drive partition that has the recovery tool.

If your Acer Aspire One no longer has the recovery partition, you will need
to acquire an external USB DVD drive and then contact Acer for a recovery DVD.
Connect the USB drive to the netbook's USB port and then insert the recovery DVD in the drive.

Hope this helps.

How do i use the dvd-player? .

On your model it does not have a dvd/cd rom built in. You will need to buy a external dvd/cd drive and hook it up through your usb port. Go into your operating system, then plug in the cable into the usb port. Turn on the Dvd/Cd, and windows should pop up of a hardware detect. If disc if provide with the external dvd/cd drive, use that and install the driver from that cd, you should be good to go.

ACER Aspire L100 Desktop is dead?

If the hard drive is OK then you can remove the hard drive from the desktop case, and insert the hard drive into a USB 3 1/2" hard drive adapter case, this should come with a power adapter. These are available at your friendly computer shop.
Boot up the laptop then plug this USB hard drive adapter into the laptop's USB port. The laptop will see this as an external USB hard drive. You can open the various folders and files on this external drive and copy the folders and files to the laptop.
You can delete the Windows folder and Program Folders on this external drive to free up disk space and use this as a back up drive etc.
If you are not sure how to remove the hard drive and install it into an USB hard disk case, then I suggest you get a computer savy friend to help you.

My acer 7520 opens with an error reading NVIDIA boot agent 249.0542, then reads PXE-E61 media test failure, check cable, PXE-M0F exiting NVIDIA boot agent.

This error message could be a faulty hard disk or a faulty disk controller.
Reseat the hard disk to see if the problem is fixed.
If not go into the BIOS settings and check if the BIOS can detect the hard disk.
If the hard disk is not detected then remove the hard disk and connect it to an USB hard disk adapter and connect it to a working computer's USB port. If the this computer cannot detect it as an external hard drive then the hard drive is faulty. Then the Acer needs a replacement hard disk and Windows installed together with the laptop's device drivers and programs etc.

Acer aspire one hard disk cannot read

Check the BIOS configuration for the hard disk, if the BIOS does not detect the hard drive then the hard drive is faulty or the disk controller is faulty.
To test the hard drive, remove it and connect it to an USB hard drive adapter and connect it to a working computer's USB port. This computer should detect the hard drive as an external disk drive. If this computer cannot detect it and/or cannot open the folders etc. the the hard drive is faulty.
Then you need to install a new hard drive in the Acer and install Windows, the device drivers and your programs to get the laptop operational again.

The first thing you need to decide is what you are going to use to backup your files: (1) An external hard drive (2) A flash drive or (3) CD or DVD.

A USB flash drive is probably the easiest way to go. Small...and fast. You can get a 4GB or 8GB one for $20-$40. If you have a lot of pictures/music/video files, you may need a larger external drive. I saw Staples advertise a 500GB USB one last week for $99.

If you are running Windows, there should be a backup utility under
All Programs>Accessories>System Tools. You can choose whatever files you wish to backup.
