The filter is under the car . there should be a plastic clip on one side and a screw in connection on the othe. 5/8 and 3/4 wrenches needed. First off pull the fuel pump fuse and start the car when it dies, keep trying to start it till it wont attempt to run this relieves fuel pressure in the system then change the filter your tank does not need to be empty or full it doesn't matter. Dont forget when u r done to reinstall the fuse. Jack the vehicle up with stand support on the front of the engine. u will see the fuel filter under the vehicle, near the door on the right side. plastic clips are sqeezed and pulled out. remove clamp if exist. put filter on in the right direction. follow arrrow on filter.

Bike misses and lugs when under load between 5 and 5500rpm as throttle is rolled on

Fuel filter? If you can ease it on and get up to speed. Fuel filter and air filter are the first to replace. Cleaning the throttles would be next.

No fuel to carburetor

I am not a mechanic, but any good mechanic knows where the fuel filter is. You should take it to a mechanic, it seems like that would be the safest and wisest thing to do and it would save you time, trouble and money in the end.

if the fuel is over flowing you may have to rebuild the carb seems like the needle valves are getting stuck i really would have to say that the fuel filter has nothing to do with this problem.

Seems like no fuel reaching motor, possible block in fuel filter?

The fuel line from the tank, the fuel pump, to the fuel filter and the fuel injection system , pump and injectors must be checked ONE BY ONE.
However the fuel filter must be changed in a span of about at least 10000 miles or much earlier if the fuel has dirt .
A code check can determine your fault and your electrical system must also be looked into.

start with changing the fuel filter and the air filter. if thats not the cure then have the fuel pressure checked. the fuel pump may be going out.

Change fuel filter. I know it doesn't make sense. It seems like you're getting too much fuel, so the filter shouldn't be plugged. But that's how they act.

Changing air filter and fuel filter

Both are under the hood and easy to get to. As for the Air Filter nobody beats K&N they are simply the best. Any fuel filter thats the right one will do.
