All dehumidifiers need and have a filter, usually already installed in them. Yours may be located behind the front louvers of the unit. Remove the bucket and look just inside the bucket holder at the top, below the louvers. You should see a tab type handle. Pull that down and out. If it's dirty it can be vacuumed or if it's really dirty, wash it with warm water and mild dish washing liquid. Rinse thoroughly and allow to completely dry before reinstalling it. NEVER operate the unit without the filer in place. Doing so, can cause damage to the unit.

If you don't have one contact Grainger Industrial Supply 1-800-323-0620. As Dayton is a house brand of Grainger. You may want to see if an Owner's Manual is still available for your model. It will be invaluable to you in the future.

Hope this helped you. Please let me know. Thanks.

T2 direct de hum 3 alarming after running a few secs.

There are several reasons why your T2 Direct Dehum 3 dehumidifier may be alarming after running for a few seconds:
  1. Dirty or Clogged Air Filter: A dirty or clogged air filter can cause the dehumidifier to overheat and shut down. Check the air filter and clean or replace it if necessary.
  2. Defective Humidity Sensor: If the humidity sensor is defective, it may cause the dehumidifier to shut down. The sensor may need to be replaced.
  3. Faulty Compressor: A faulty compressor can cause the dehumidifier to shut down after running for a short time. You may need to replace the compressor.
  4. Low Refrigerant Charge: If the refrigerant charge is low, it can cause the dehumidifier to shut down. You may need to recharge the refrigerant.
  5. Faulty Control Board: A faulty control board can cause the dehumidifier to shut down or display error messages. You may need to replace the control board.
It is recommended to contact a qualified technician to diagnose and repair the issue with your dehumidifier.

I don't believe your question is Office Equipment.

I will try to get it put in another category.

What is the P1 code on my Dayton Dehumidifier 5eaj9 mean?

Empty the bucket. Reseat the bucket carefully or the code will not reset. This is the only documented action for code P1.

Whar does the E1 code suggest I do?

E1 indicates that the filter needs to be removed and cleaned. Be sure to turn the unit OFF and plug it, before removing the filter. You can either vacuum the filter or if it's really dirty, wash it in warm water and dish washing liquid, rinse and thoroughly dry it, before reinstalling it. NEVER operate the dehumidifier without the filter installed. Doing so could cause damage to the unit.

My Dayton Dehumidifier drains out the hole designed for a hose connection. How do I get it to drain into the container in the unit?

If you want to use the bucket to collect the water cover the hole in the back where the hose to dispense water outside would normally go. You need a rubber cover that will fit tightly, it should have come with the unit.

Should I clean or replace the air filter?

You can wash the filter with water, no problem. However, I would recommend replacing the filter every 3 to 4 months depending on how much you use the dehumidifier. The exposure to constant moisture will cause the filter to grow mold over time.
