You are cycling on the compressor overload, meaning the compressor is drawing excessive amperage, the overload takes it out then it cools down and tries again. the normal amp draw for those compressors is 3-4 amps. Have you checked the condenser fan and made sure the coil is clean?
unfortunately those compressors cannot be serviced

Fridge warm, freezer has frost on back panel & is defrosting, fans work, just changed defrost thermostat, no air is moving from freezer side to fridge side, drain pan under fridge is dry

this fan needs to run when the compressor runs, check fan blade for being jammed by ice if you have this much ice on back wall as ice will stall motor,if no fan there will be no cool air to refrige compartment also the defrost drain tray will fill with water then freeze over which in turn floods the freezer floor and refrige compartments cause it cannot drain to the pan in the bottom

Defrosting in freezer

Probably the compressor relay, you will start to notice your food to thaw out and get bad. Try unplugging for about an hour. if then it still does that call www.whirlpoolpartssurplus.com and get a relay kit.

Water dispenser doesnt work, ice dispenser works fine

1) remove the tubing connector behind refrig kickplate . Press for water . If no water comes from tube under refrig , then possibly frozen tank but probably not . Probably bad water inlet valve . ( tank is in the lower potrion of the refrig section behind the crispers ) .
2) if water does shoot out , then your freezer door is frozen which requires leaving door open and tapeing light switch closed and tape plastic around freezer section opening so fridge will continue to operate normally . Thawing freezer door could take a day or 2 . 3) You can plug the hoses back togather and walk by occasionally pressing water untill comes out . Lower your freezer temperature setting also ( could be set for too cold)

GE GSS25KGSA.... the freezer is no longer freezing regardless of temperature setting. It gets cold but no freezing. There used to be more noise during cycles, but that has stopped also.

The fan that circulates air in the freezer compartment is frozen & not circulating air - resulting in a freezer compartment that is cool but not cold. The reason is that the “heater & bracket” that warms & defrosts the evaporator coil & the fan above it has died & w/no defrosting, the coil & the fan load up with frost & ice & stop working.

Temporary Solution:
1) Unplug the frig.

2) Take all the food & shelves out of the freezer. Put it ALL in one cardboard box; this will keep it from defrosting while you get the freezer working.
3) Take out the ice maker storage bin (the thing that's full of ice cubes) & dump the ice cubes. (if you leave them in the freezer, they will melt & refreeze & make a disaster).
4) There is a metal panel below the lights & it should have frost & ice built on it.
5) Get two (not one) hair driers, set them on high heat & melt all the frost & ice & keep on melting & defrosting for about 10 minutes.
4) Plug the frig back in.
5) The freezer fan should be turning.

6) Put the shelf & food back in & close the door.
7) Expect this problem to reoccur in one to four months...

Solution:
1) Get a “heater & bracket” GE part number WR51X10055, about $30 w/shipping on eBay. This is for a GSS25KGSA GE side by side (the last two letters WW, BB, & CC are colors). If you have a different GE side by side, the correct part number can easily be found at www.searspartsdirect.com. Nice drawings.
2) Unplug the frig.

3) Take all the food & shelves out of the freezer. Put it ALL in one cardboard box; this will keep it from defrosting while you get the freezer working.
4) Take out the ice maker storage bin (the thing that's full of ice cubes) & dump the ice cubes.
5) Take out the light cover. One Philips screw on top & two press-to-release plastic things on the bottom.
6) Unscrew the light bulbs.
7) Take out the metal panel below the lights. Four ¼” screws. It is held in by two tabs at the top, so swing the bottom out & pull it down. Be careful not to bend it.
8) Get two (not one) hair driers, set them on high hot & melt all the frost & ice on the evaporator coil. Do NOT touch it.
9) Remove the “Heater & Bracket” by unscrewing the two Phillips screws and then unplugging the red & blue wires.
10) Install the new “Heater & Bracket” by plugging in the red & blue wires & replacing the two screws. Be careful not to get it backwards when plugging the wires; only goes one way.

11) Put the back panel back in & secure it with the 4 ¼” screws.
12) Reinstall the lights & cover.

13) Plug the frig back in.
14) Put the shelves & food back in & close the door.
15) Expect this problem to reoccur every 3-4 years; great designs fail after the warranty is up, and keep the repairmen & parts people employed …

p.s. about once a year, you should vacuum all the accumulated dust off the condenser coils. They are hidden behind a metal cover at the bottom back of the refrig. If you don't, expect the dust eventually block all airflow & the compressor will burn up & you will be buying a new frig.

your relay to compressor is bad,you can replace with same relay and overload or you can try a 3-n-1 hard to start for ref. compressors.

Frigidare ice maker making slabs of ice, not cubes

Today, I removed ice maker and auger motor. Found out this morning that water was running down the back of frig. inside, everything in freezer was frozen together. Found this out after removing all food from freezer. When i looked into the ice maker where water enters, that was frozen solid. After thawing and checking everthing. I put it back together in freezer. It is nine oclock now, and I do have cubes. I really can't tell you what I did, except thaw it all out. It's been running for four hours now and it seems to be all right.

Jenn Air JRSD209T

This is just anecdotal here, but one repair guy who came out and thawed a frozen line into the icemaker told us the fridge required near-full line pressure 90- or 70- or whatever that is, in order for the ice maker to work. This was a licensed repair guy. We were feeding it with an RO, which only pumped it in at 17 or 20 psi (or whatever the unit is) which he informed us was inadequate. However, after he thawed things out and we changed out the inline carbon filter in the fridge, everything was hunky dory for a couple of years. About a year back, the icemaking stopped, and changing out the carbon filters in the fridge AND in the RO system did the trick.

Now we have a different problem. Things aren't getting or staying cold, especially the fridge. I opened the housing in the back of the fridge, defrosted the extensive ice accumulated around the refridgerant coils, and everything ran great for a couple of days. Now we're back in the global warming pattern: steadily rising temperatures and thawing. I'm not feeling too happy about Jenn-Air these days.

Icemaker

You might have a frozen line. Also and this seems more important to you its prob to cold, Trust me to cold of a refrig will cause hollow ice cubes first leading to a frozen line. Clean your coils, if you have another refrig empty out into that, unplug it leave doors open a couple days. If you can get to water line use a hair dryer from a distance defrost line, turn down freezer half knotch 1 full one at maximum. should fix issues, especially if filter already changed. If this all check prob a clogged line, not just frozen.
