I have a Maytag 45-Pint Dehumidifier M7DH45B2A which hasn't been used for a year. Now, the fan runs but the only think in the bucket is drops of greenish liquid. Is there an easy fix or just buy another unit?

Don't run the compressor for any length of time without the fan operating. Is it possible that the fan must be replaced? Can you power the fan safely to test it?

If you can gravity feed it and can get a hose around the output pipe then any flexible hose will work that is slightly larger than the output pipe.

Here's a link to where you can find the "doohickey" your looking for. It's really called an activation switch. There's also an exploded view of the parts for your model. Also, if you can't find it for Maytag, try Fedders. They make the same unit and actually made the one you have with the Maytag brand name on it. The model numbers will be almost identical. Juts drop the 'M' off the front.

Well life span is 3-15 years depends how long and hard you run them. 45 pint is about 1000sqft basment. rule of thumbs bigger better. run less and do a better job.
