Firmware update problem

During firmware update the camera turned it self off before the ok sign was displayed, resulting in the camera not working.
Turning the camera on it displays an Orange and blue led and then a blue flashing led. Not able to turn it off only by taking the batteries out.
Try to reload firmware 1.4 again but camera USB connection is not recognized.
Will I still be able to reload firmware and how.
Regard peter

Try first to remove batteries and to put them back after two minutes, if firmware is damaged you may not be able to fix it by yourself.

Try first removing the batteries, then plug camera back ino computer, and try again upadting firmware.
Firmware is the operative software that makes your camera work. If firmware is badly damaged, and camera does not work on usb, you may need to take camera to a repair shop and flash firmware straight into eprom chip to start the camera.

When updating firmware also try using the "Olympus Master software", that is the software that came with camera on cd, most likely you will need a camera repair shop to fix your Olympus.

one. there is no firmware for the Z1200 to download, unless Casio says so.
two.
You can't put in other firmware in any device if it does not work perfect.
Updating a bad working apparatus by trying to change firmware is the only thing you should not try.
You will end with a device that can't be used for anything. Any defect will be pinter to as self induced.

Can i update camera firmware through a printer dock?

Kodak does not suggest a firmware upgrade through a printer dock. Instead, they recommend using an SD card (memory card).

First:
  1. Click Download, then save the firmware file to your computer desktop.
  2. Double-click the *.exe file. When the WinZip Self-Extractor screen appears, select a folder or accept the default location, then click Unzip. The firmware file unzips to the specified folder.
  3. Note the location of the *.FW file, then close the WinZip Self-Extractor.
Instructions:
  1. If you have pictures/videos on your camera's internal memory or on the memory card, save them to your computer.
  2. Ensure that your camera batteries are fully charged.
  3. Turn off your camera.
  4. Insert the memory card into your computer or into a card reader attached to your computer.
  5. Verify that the memory card has at least 100 MB free space.
  6. On your computer, select the removable drive associated with the memory card or card reader.
  7. If a System folder does not exist on the memory card, create one. From the removable drive window, select File > New > New Folder, then name the new folder System.
  8. Copy the *.FW file from your computer into the System folder.
  9. Remove the memory card from your computer or card reader, then insert it into your camera.
  10. Turn on your camera, then follow the instructions to begin the firmware upgrade. The upgrade takes approximately two minutes to complete.
  11. When "Upgrade was successful" appears on the LCD, select Delete Upgrade File to delete the firmware file from the memory card.
  12. Turn off your camera, then turn the camera on to activate the new firmware.

I have error code e106 on my 733 hp camera, whatis that?

CausesThese errors display because the lens will not move. There are several reasons why the camera lens might not move:
  • something is blocking the lens
  • the firmware version is old
  • the camera has been abused
  • foreign material is inside the lensor
  • the lens is loose or completely off the track
SolutionFollow all of the steps listed below.
  1. Perform a power reset on the camera.
    1. Turn off the camera and remove any optional memory card.
    2. Hold the ON/OFF switch in the ON position until the HP logo displays and then disappears.
    3. The camera is now reset. When the camera is turned back on it should prompt for the date and time.
  2. If the camera does not display an error after the reset and appears to be functioning properly, it is imperative to check and update the firmware. The firmware update corrects the lens positioning issue that can cause E104, E105, and E106 errors with the camera.Determine if an update is needed by following the steps below to check the current version of the firmware on the camera:
    1. Before turning the camera on, press and hold the Flash button.
    2. While the Flash button is depressed, turn on the camera. A Service Screen displays.
    3. Located at the bottom of the screen is an entry, F/W.
    4. If the version of the firmware is lower than 1.12, then the firmware update is required and should be performed immediately.

Camera was disconnect from pc during firmware update and now it will not turn on

On most cameras, when a firmware update is interrupted, you usually end up with an expensive "brick". E-mail the techs at the support section of the Olympus website and see if they have a work-around for you.

I keep getting a card not initialized error

Usually formatting the card will solve this:
Menu/OK / Setup / Format.
But if you are using the newer H or M type card, you may need to update the camera firmware.
The new firmware can be downloaded here:
http://www.fujifilm.com/support/download/camera/firmware/
I haven't tried this update on batteries. The camera will prompt you to use an AC adapter during the update. IF you are allowed to make the update on batteries, make sure the batteries are fresh.
