Hi. I've got a 42" Toshiba REGZA. Sometimes when we are watching, the left half of the screen will fill with vertical colored lines of varying colors. It's clearly the TV because they remain as you change channels. They will sometimes go away after a couple of minutes, sometimes last as long as 15 minutes. It's still under warranty, but when I approached our salesman he said he's never heard of the problem. I showed him a photograph of the screen as well. The closest warranty repairman is is 80 miles away, so we will be without the TV for at least two weeks if we ship it off. Do you recommend we do this, or is there an easier solution?

Re: Weird lines on Toshiba REGZA
Its in warranty ship it, the problem is actually not common but it is a problem it is related to the processor on the main board, and um don't trust salesmen to tell you about repair issues. They really don't have a clue. if you need a tv for to weeks then rent one for two weeks they are not that expensive to rent

hi this fault sounds like a bad tab/ribbon fault, at top of the tv are ribbons connector to the screen, when one is faulty the heat makes them flex causing this fault, you can bond the ribbon down with a bit of rubber to stop it flexing, but this not a permanent repair as it is a screen fault. hope it helps
I've tried the link, but failed to see your youtube video. Anyway, if there are vertical lines, and all of them are closed to each other, indicates either a T'Con or Panel problem. To make it sure, just get into this link http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ Pull up older posts there, either by its left side bar or see it in Timeslide option. There are screen shots of different problems to flat panel TVs. Compare them to your TVs' and make sure about the fault.
My 52 in regza has a vertical line on the right side as well just under 2 years old, out of warranty and to costly to repair, I paid $2500 as well. The TV has been on its stand since the day I bought it and has been moved once.
