My car radio, Pioneer DEH-P4750MP, 2 years old is connected to the 12v battery system on our boat, and has just suddenly started flashing when turned on. We cant turn it off or input anything. Have to take face off to turn off. Checked power and we are getting 12.6v to unit. Can anyone help

The radio is not subject to water. IT is well protected in the yacht with other equipment. Surely it would not flash if it had shorted.

Well, it might have something to do with the fact taht it was designed to be installed in a car. theres no waterproofing or weatherproofing. you probably got water in the unit somehow and it shorted. i did the same thing with my pioneer FH-P404 and it cost me more to repair than to replace.

I have a pioneer DEH 150 radio it's loses its memory when the isolator switch is turned off in the tractor?

The radio has been wired incorrectly so no 12v battery power is applied to retain memory when the isolator switch is turned off.

DEH-15UB

hi brian, the remedy to your problem is simple. your power wiring from the unit has been incorrectly connected to the vehicle. from the unit connect the yellow wire "directly" to the battery +12v positive line, and the red wire to a "swiched" +12v positive position on the ignition barrel, OR the yellow and red wires can be joined together directly on the battery +12v positive line. also make sure that the ground connection is 100% secure. cheers.

I shut off my car and turn it back on i need to setup the radio and my settings again it doesnt save ! im missing the orange wire for illumination but my deck still illuminates its the memory thats doesnt...

Make sure the yellow wire is going to a source that still has 12v when the key is turned off. The yellow wire controls the memory and needs to be connected to a constant power source.

Radio does not come on

There are a few things you may need to check:

1.Make sure you have 12v to the yellow wire on the harness with a good ground at the black wire, and the red wire should be your ignition switched acc wire.

2.Make sure your fuse under the radios wire harness connector is good.

If all of that is in order hook it up, turn the key on and hit the on/off button on the cd player, most aftermarket radios require you to manually turn them on the first time, and anytime the battery is disconnected. If is still doesn't work the unit is more than likely bad.

Trying to install pioneer cd player in street rod.

You need:

a 12v + source from the battery (yellow wire)
a 12v + switched with the key (red wire)
a Ground (black wire)

then you need your four speakers hooked up, i'm unsure of the color codes on them but they are usually pairs i.e. green and green with black stripe for one speaker white with black stripe for another etc.

other wires such as illumination (orange) and power antenna (blue) are optional

the illumination (orange) you would connect to 12v + from a headlight switch and it would cause the unit to dim when you turned your headlights on

The power antenna (blue) is used, as the name implies to control a power antenna if you have one, or more commonly as the signal to turn an audio amp on (on the remote connection)

Hope this helps

Wiring Pioneer DEH-225 to 1996 Kia Sportage

the difference between constant and switched 12V is the constant is usually for the clock and memory. it draws precious little current. the switched would be for the radio and amp once the car is turned on. You can use tape but either a wire nut (not the pink ones) or a crimp on cap would be better than using tape.

Red wire Pioneer MP 2050?

yes you can. but you risk battery drain in the long run. the ignition switch provides that feature for you... doesnt the old head unit have the wire for that? (red and yellow)
