Question about Dell Latitude D600 Notebook
When i press the power button on 1 light comes on but it do not boot please help with batter and cord and battery out and cord in and battery in and cord out
If the adaptor has failed, then the battery has not been receiving any charge current meaning that neither would be able to start your system.
You need a cheap meter of some kind to see if the adaptor is putting anything out in the way of voltage and the ratings on it will specify in- output voltage and current.
If you are in the US, you can buy a usable multimeter for <$20 US at Radio Shack.
If the output voltage is there at all, it may read much higher than is printed on the case but this is a normal condition with no load current being drawn. These devices may not have any regulation at all and be wholly dependent on a regulator inside the notebook itself.
