Before starting of - make sure you have backups of precious data - it will erase everything on he disk.

It involves restoring the Windows factory image - which is some cases is located on the harddisk on an extra partition. It involves starting the laptop with one of the Fn keys pressed. (Such as F1, F2 etc) If not located on the harddisk, it requires reinstalling Windows using the CD and license key.

I have a sonic TV and can't retune, because of a code lock which I don't have

If you have forgotten the code lock for your Sonic TV and cannot retune it, you may be able to reset it back to factory settings by performing a factory reset. However, please note that this will erase all custom settings and data, and revert the TV to its original state.
To perform a factory reset on your Sonic TV, follow these steps:
  1. Turn off the TV using the power button.
  2. Unplug the TV from the power outlet.
  3. Press and hold the power button on the TV for 15-20 seconds.
  4. While still holding the power button, plug the TV back into the power outlet.
  5. Continue holding the power button for another 15-20 seconds, then release the button.
  6. The TV should now reset to factory settings.
Please note that the steps may vary depending on the specific model of your Sonic TV. If you are unsure or if this method does not work, you may want to consult the instruction manual for your TV or contact the manufacturer for further assistance.

I need the reset code to preform a factory reset

soft resetting :

-Back to factory settings: This should maintain your data (contacts/messages/calendar/notes etc), just returning your N97 back to all previous settings

From menu:
Settings> Phone>Phone Management>Factory Settings

hard resetting:

The traditional method won't work as the N97 doesn't have the old keypad. After you've backed up your data onto memory card/pc/ovi, turn your phone off and simultaneously press these four buttons circled in red.
  • Caps shift
  • Space bar
  • Delete button
  • On button
You'll know it's worked when you see the initial set up screen, asking country of origin.
