Question about Intel Motherboard
You have done all about that i would do , next would be to make sure it is connected properly to the motherboard , and then if no luck reinstalling the HID drivers for it , you may possibly need a new motherboard otherwise.

I will need to know what brand of computer you are using and also the model number? Some computers allow you to shut off the touch pad feature for the convenience of typing documents without he mouse interfering, if this is your situation I will need brand/model of computer you are using in order to assist you in giving you the keys you must press in order to activate your touch pad.
