First ensure that none of your inkjet cartridges are empty or near empty. The machine will not perform cleaning if any cartridge is too low on ink. If the conditions are met the machine at least attempt perform the cleaning function. There is no guarantee that the print quality will improve on the first try.

SOURCE: Can't get color to print-black works fine.

You are on the right way. Press MENU then the blue START MONO Button which normally starts copies in black and white modus. After that press the round button (which can be normally pushed to four sides l/r up/down) UP four times. Now you should be in maintenance modus. Follow the procedure as mentioned before. If there are more questions post it here.

SOURCE: Not printing

I tried pushing the menu button and the blue start button 4 x's. First the 4 buttons (photo/capture, copy, fax & scan lit up and started flashing and the printer went into maintenance mode, then the word copy 01/01 appeared and nothing happened. Then machine error code 4Fappeared. Does anyone have a clue what to do next? Mix-it-Up do you have any input?

MFC does not recognise the new black ink cartridge.

Disconnect power supply and USB lead (leave disconnected for 10 min). Repeat this for each colour that is not working and hey presto the LCD readout will revert to normal and you will be able to print again. Happy Christmas! Hope this works for you (worked for me)
