Wi-fi working on and off what might have happened

Is it losing the signal, is that what you mean by on and off? Or is the power going on and off? Check ALL cables, reseat same. Does it do the same when plugged in using a Ethernet Cable? Contact your ISP to verify any troubles in your area and to verify the signal. It may be a outside equipment issue or your hardware , hard to say until you eliminate the possibilities one by one. ISP Modem, cables, Wireless device. If you are losing power check the AC jack in the wireless device, it often gets pulled by the cord breaking the connection inside the wireless device.

Why does my cable box constantly freeze up when I am watching television shows?

In todays cable industry clean RF is a must. However that issue can be lose fittings at the wall or set top box or most especially at the modem. A modem constantly chatters back to the server even when your not using it. A lose fitting there can cause you and the whole neighborhood issues. Try that tighten all your cable fittings all around your house if that doesnt fix it the issue could be a bad box or not even at your home. The other issue often is squirrels chewing on the drop lines at the pole.

Says i have a power calibration problem on a gateway 5480E ..what can i do to correct.

Hi,

I see that you are having issue with power on the system and the error is a power calibration issue is that correct?

Was there any brand new device added into the machine before this issue happened?

Make sure that the Power supply for the machine has a capacity that can carry and make all the device on the machine run if it will have shortage issue then you will likely have an error as such and may not let other devices work properly on your system/machine.

If no devices were added and was working fine previously then you can check the power cables inside the machine, see if there are lose power cables inside make sure all of the power cables are properly connected and not lose.

I see the issue is with the CD-RW/DVD-ROM on the Machine right, if that will be the case then open the tower and see the power cable connection of the CD/DVD drive and see if it is still connected properly or possibly lose.

I believe this is a desktop Machine right, See this link, this will have all the detail information on how to remove or replace a part inside your Gateway machine .

For proper and correct part and it's compatibility got to the Gateway website or call Gateway.

I hope that this will help.

Have a nice day,

If i leave the mouse untouched for a few minutes. I lose connection . What could be the problem please ?

Hi there!
Actually the mouse doesn't have to do with losing your connection. You may have set your computer to auto sleep or you may have activated a power saving option or perhaps a Parental Control function that limits the usage. Check your computer settings for any of these functions.
It would be better if you'll explain your issue further. You may also check your cable modem for any signal issues. There are connection drop off's usually caused by a bad connection for your internet provider.
Have a nice day!

I lose Audio from internal speakers Vizio

This issue is actually caused by my cable box. Access the audio SETTINGS on Hand held Cable Remote, and turn on the HDMI and or "Digital Audio Out" option. found on 'more' settings list. This should fix the issue. I had assumed the Cable companeis 'Boot' would have installed this feature during its initialization.

Keep losing the Signal

This is a fairly simple thing to trouble shoot. If you are losing your wireless signal where your OS tells you that you have been disconnected from the wireless network then there is an issue with your wireless router. If your cable modem drops the data link to your ISP your wireless network will still work 100% fine, however websites will not load, but the router admin page should.

The end all be all way to prove it is not your wireless router is to simply use a network cable for a few days and see if you get the same issues. If it does turn out to be your wireless router there could be an issue with interference and I would recommend trying a different wireless channel.

My gpx under the cabinet tv comes on, but after a few minutes the sound gets static in it, then I lose the picture, but the sound comes back perfect.

Double check the cabling, loose cable will case such issues, also try a different cable, if neither works, most likely you will need to exchange it.

Losing connection with WGR614 v6 router

Well, glad I found someone with the same problem, the answer will certianly surprise you.
The answer is cordless phones and satellite interent.
if you have cordless phones and/or satellite internet it will lose signal.
They run on the same frequency.
To fix it log into your router, goto wireless settings, then check the box for enable channel settings. You may have to reboot the router and PC.
Should help.
Good luck and have a happy new year.
