Question about Acer Aspire 3000 Notebook
Ok. So I have asked a few people about my problem and all they keep saying is I don't know or I have to think about that one. My computer is 2 and a half yrs old and over those yrs it has filled up with stuff I have downloaded and about 2 months ago i turned it on and my mouse didn't move I rebooted it, still nothing. My sister has gone to school for computer stuff i don't doubt her one bit. She told me she hasn't had a lot of experience with laptops and said she will try to fix it. Now I am just trying to find someone that can help me and her. I bought a windows xp pro disk and tryed to put it on there, it went through the initial setup and asked me about the time and where i am located, mouse wouldn't move and tab and enter didn't either. My sister merged the touch pad driver and windows disk together creating a bootable cd. I did this with what i thought success. My sister finished getting the rest of the drivers and i put them on and put sp2 on and then it froze up and mouse didn't move again. So I redid the whole process and deleted the os and redid it but now the mouse still wont move. My teacher for computer maintenance told me to get the driver, well the problem lies that I don't have an operating system to do so. I think i am screwed. I am also freaking out because i have to download a program to do a project that is due next thursday. Is there anything you can think of? Please let me know. You can email me at email@example.com.
Dont panic, to get the operating system loaded, simply buy a cheap usb mouse and that should take over from the touchpad, i can't believe you were told to reinstall windows to solve a simple thing like that, uninstalling the touchpad in control panel in 'mice and pointing devices'; and restarting the notebook would have solved that one.
