Door its lock shows light code f21 - Whirlpool Duet GHW9150P Front Load Washer

It would help to know what brand and model of washer you have. Often you can erase those codes by unplugging the washer and replugging it. AT that point the door may unlock.

Otherwise you can google the error code and the washer model and see what comes up.
You can even read the owner's manual. It ?ƒten has good information in it.

Here is the code meaning
F26 is for door lock - do you hear the door lock one time or with click sound repeatedly.
F20 no water entering - do you check water coming into washer
F21 long drain-do you take a look of pump filter
Another possibility is the pressure switch was bad.

The F21 error code is displayed when the water didn't drain in the normal time,the usual reason the washer did nto drain with in the normal time is because the filter screen on the pump is clogged. This tip i wrote will show ya how to take apart the washer and clean the filter on the pump.

Based on your post I understand you have a F21 problem with a Whirlpool Duet washer, that indicates the F21 error means an excessive drain time.
As for the door locked issue, it is a by-product of the F21 error. Make sure you get the water out before attempting to open the door manually or it could be messy.

To Manually unlock the door lock system:

1. Unplug the power cord from the outlet.

2. Remove the lower toe panel.

3. Reach up along the inside of the front panel and locate the bottom of the door latch assembly.

4. Located on the bottom of the door latch assembly is a tear-drop shaped tab.

5. Gently pull the tab down about ¼" or until a click is heard.
6. The door may now be opened.

Lets see: F21 Long drain Possible cause: Clogged filter, clogged/failed pump Remove the bottom panel go for the pump cleanout, get the googus out. Tech sheet is located behind the white box to the left which is the motor control unit (MCU). The tech sheet is an excellent tool which gives directions on diagnosing those pesky fault code. LOL

"F21" is a Long Drain error. If the drain time exceeds 8 minutes this error code will be displayed. In addition, a "SUDS" error may also be displayed. This may be an indication of a drain pump problem and/or clog in the drain line. You will need to check the following:


1.First, attempt to unplug the washer for at LEAST 30 minutes to reset the Central Control Unit (CCU). Sometimes this is all that is required to correct momentary glitches with the unit. If the error code returns, proceed to step 2.
2.Check the drain hose to make sure it is not kinked or clogged.
3.Check the electrical connections to the pump and ensure the pump is running.
4.Remove the drain pump filter and check for foreign objects and/or debris.


If the above procedures do not correct the problem, it is recommended by the manufacturer to replace the drain pump.

First check your washer plug to see if the connections are tightly screwed. Next check your filter if you haven't for long.

Remove the 3 screws at the bottom of the front panel under the washer door. Your filter door will be light brown. If you find a hose there it is to drain out excess water (water that could not be drained by your pump) After you hv drained unscrew the cap and remove all the junk inside. Have a large plastic bag to catch junk and water. Refit carefully after cleaning out. If not solved, something shd be blocking your pump, check this out

that is because there is a problem with your pump. you need to take the bottom panel off and untwist the pump filter if it has gone further you need to take the 3 screws out of the pump and clean the impeller. try cleaning the pump filter first though and let me know how it goes

Remove the front kick panel (3 screws on the bottom and the panel will just slide off) on the side of cabinet there will be a plastic enveloppe, or a paper one with a sheet in it. This is the tech sheet. It will show all the error codes for your machine. Look up F21 and it should tell you how to test the component that is causing the failure. Based on that, you can decided if it's worth calling a technician.
