Mitel superconsole 1000

We have an older mitel phone system for our hotel. It has a superconsole 1000 at the front desk. The console shows that one of the extensions is "LOCKED" We have tried clearing it from the console but cannot figure out how to do it. The result is that our guest in the room with that extension cannot make or receive calls. We have consulted the console manual and it does nto say how to fix the problem.

Any ideas on how to clear it?

We have the same problem at our hotel.
You can't fix it at the console, you need to go to the room and unplug the guest's phone from the wall for 10 seconds... reconnect and it is fixed.

Ok, I have had this problem at two different hotels now. All it turns out to be at both of them is that the phone (or one of the phones, if you have multiple phones in the room) was bad. Both occasions we switched out a phone and the system started working correctly again with out the 'LOCKED' code showing. I hope this has helped you and any future people looking for help.

Occasionally, I experience this probem at my hotel as well. I discovered that when a phone is left off the hook too long, the console shows an alarm. If the alarm is cleared and the phone is not returned to the reciever, the extension is held in the Line Card and shows as "locked" on the console. This is to alert the attendant that a problem still exists.

NORMALLY ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS HIT FUNCTION AND ON THE SCREEN IT WILL GIVE YOU A DAY SERVICE CHOICE. HIT THE FUNCTION KEY THAT CORRESPONDS TO IT.

PHONE CALLING 911, i CANT DISENGAGE!


To read a 911 Emergency Call alarm message:
1.Press Function
2.Press [ALARM]
3.Press [SHOW 911]
This will show what extension calls the 911.
4.Record the number of the extension from which the 911 call originated.
If additional 911 calls were made, press [MORE] to view them.
To delete the 911 alarm, press [CLEAR]
5.Contact the appropriate emergency services.
6.Press [EXIT].

all "MAJOR" category alarms on a Mitel supeerconsole may or may not be service-affecting, but in any event need to be investigated, the cause found and cleared. Contact your Mitel service company or system maintainer. DO NOT IGNORE these alarms as you may come in some day and find your system completely down. (pay me now or pay me later) as the old saying goes. Good luck

Trying to answer call in hotel back office Mitel 5212 phone frm Superconsole phone at front desk. How do we do that?


Attendant Directed Call Pickup
Description
The attendant can perform a directed call pickup from the console. This will permit calls to be retrieved before the recall timer expires or if calls have been transferred to the wrong extension.
Conditions
None.
Programming
Assign an access code to Feature 09 (Directed Call Pickup).
Enable COS Option 218 (Directed Call Pickup).
Operation
• Dial the Directed Call Pickup code.
• Dial the extension number of the ringing telephone - the call is connected.

Mitel Superconsole 1000 switchboard in a hotel. Shows 1 call waiting and the phone is ringing. Unfortunately, that is not a "real" and if you press the answer key there is no way to answer this...


Do you know if this is on an SX2000 or SX200? If it's on an SX2000, it is a software glitch and requires upgrade to the latest software. As a work-around, you can de-program and re-program the console. It should clear the problem for a while.

Yes, there are things you can do to clear the locked out phone.
~ The locked means something is wrong with the phone -or- wiring to the room from the Mitel system...

Locked out is like leaving your phone off hook too long, you get that irratating beeping noise, then when the beeping stops, the phone is locked out to save power going to the set.

Ok ~ the first thing I would try, go to the set and play with it, hang everything up and test to see if you can get dial tone... the next thing is change out the telephone set, and test.

If you changed out the telephone set, and there is still a trouble, there maybe a wiring issue, in which case you will require a cable tech to test connectivity...
