My Samsung X120 laptop screen has started to show a white strip about 3.5 inches/9 cm wide just to the right of midscreen, running the full height. when logged on the normal icons show either side, but those that should be where the strip is do not show. However, they do work-for example logginh on to my desktop. the stripe comes on as soon as the screen /laptop is booted( so not an operating system problem) and does not show when I attach a monitor. I deduce that the problem is not the laptop but either the cable to the screen, or the screen itself. How do I tell which it is? I have found sites selling replacement screens, but not cables. Are they available if needed?

The cables are integral to the monitor (most of the time) and will come with the replacement screen.

Samsung led 65 inch left side of screen is a 5 inch wide white vertical strip. can anyone help me ?

The Vertical colored lines that usually do show up on TV screens is when the T-Con board is not working correctly and most times this can be simply be caused from wiring that is not securely or fully fastened. Other times the T-Con Board itself might be faulty and needs to be replaced.

One inch is exactly 2.54 cm, so if you're 5 ft 9 in then you're about 175 cm.

Hi , and thanx for using our site ..
My advice is that you have a resolution issue ...if the strip is present in both sites..it means that you are using a wrong resolution ...so get into the video properties and try a few configurations ...until you get the one fit for your screen ...(I deduced this cause it is not present in another monitor..so it's not an physical or system issue...but probably you have a wide screen and a wrong resolution in use..

Image on 'normal' setting isn't using full height of tv screen.

What you will need to do is grab your remote that came with the tv - click "Menu">select "Settings">go down to "Screen" and make sure that:

1. Wide Mode reads "Full"
2. Auto Wide reads "On"
3. Display Area reads "Full Pixel"

Hope that helps.

Screen Problem

Unfortunately the fix is a new lcd. The tab welds at the top of the lcd are not allowing that portion to work correctly. As these tabs are fused to the lcd you will need to replace the lcd. My Toshiba M105 is almost the same.(I Have 4" Gone) on the right side. so to use it I clicked and dragged my system tray from the bottom to the side. And shrunk my web pages to utilize tthe good portion.

I suppose I should replace it but being only 18months old the LCD's run about 160.00 USD.(sometimes I just hook up an external monitor.
