I have a hi-grade va250d, my grandfather dropped a glas of salt water on it a couple of months ago and as a result the u key doesn't work, all other keys and functions work correctly, is it possible there is a simple solution? or where would i start looking for replacement parts?

Hi, does the u key stick or it moves but doesnt respond? If all the other keys respond a good clean under the keys might help, maybe salt crystals are interfering with 'u' function, i had a similar problem with a coffee spillage, i soaked a cotton bud in keyboard cleaning solution, (less than £1 from wilkinson, also comes with a shaped sponge to clean between keys) wiped off excess liquid and carefully cleaned under the keys. i hope you get it sorted............or you change your vocabulary to exclude all u's!

My nokia e51 dropped in sea salt water ten days ago, I dried it and opened its cover under the keyboard and cleaned it , it worked very well for a whole week, the problem is now the battery is not...

Hi,

The sea salt water has made the charging port corrode. So get a screw driver, open the phone and bring out the charging port. The charging port is where you put our charger. Use methylated spirit to brush the charging port and the panel where the charging port is place.

Dry it for 30 minutes and couple the phone and it will start working fine.

I don't have a problem, just a question. I recently purchased a home with a GE Smartwater softening system installed Model GXSF23Z01. What do I need to do to maintain this system. Does it require salt?...

Check the time of day, and make sure it's accuate. Reset if necessary. Add salt if it's low. It's always best to let the salt level run low (about 1-2") so it doesn't mush. Only add 80-100 lbs at a time for best results. This particular softener doesn't keep a water level in the tank, so you won't see any water in the salt area. If there is standing water in the salt area, that could mean it's not working the way it should. Here is a link to the owners manual. It's in PDF format

It was dropped in ocean more than a week ago . Now not turning on. What can be done to fix it?

Even if you dried it properly (burying it in a bowl of dry rice for a week before even trying to turn it on), salt water is very corrosive and continues to do damage for weeks and months. It also dries to a salty film on the lens elements. Dropping a camera into salt water is usually a death sentence for a camera. Even if you could find someone willing to repair it, the cost would be astronomical since everything except the case would have to be replaced.

Cullihan water softener-No water in tank-Orange water in house-Salt level measured 3 months ago, has remained the same. ( no salt used ) Repair man claims to have fixed the timer 45 days ago.

the way a water softener is set by , goes off the hardness of the water and how much water you use. Doing a manual cycle will show you if its at least working or not. If nothing happens when you do a manual cycle then you should call back the repair man and have him look at again. The float might be stuck in the brine tank, you can try emptying the salt and cleaning the salt tank out side with a hose, spray water in to the float and make sure is clean and free . Add salt with 3 gallons of water and do a manual cycle. If this still doesn't work then it could be a stuck valve inside the water softener that is stuck closed.

Salt water system flashes 90

Hi. Have you cleaned the flow sensor? Make sure that it moves freely throughout it's full range of motion. Sometimes things eventually will fail. If you have completed your checklist and the above mentioned then the replacement of the sensor unit seems to be the next logical step. Happy swimming

Hi-Grade VA250D - lights on but no post to screen ??

There are lots of VA250D on ebay with this exact problem. I have a working one and picked up a dead one to repair. I thought it was a corrupt BIOS but swapping the flash IC from the working laptop (not easy to do) did not fix it. Nor did swapping the processor make a difference. So looking for a solution myself but looks unlikely it is a simple BIOS corruption issue.

Usually they do not sell a single key for a keyboard. You will have to replace the entire keyboard. I found a seller.

I got it wet!!

The first thing is to know if the phone dropped in salted or fresh water. If was in salted water, forget it, you let it pass so much time, but if was fresh water, try to open the phone ( get a Torx 6 or 8 screwdriver in home depot) and use pure alcohol with and old toothbrush and clean the mineral deposited on the circuits, gentle brush it and let it dry, then reasemble the phone a it will work perfect
