I am having a hard time finding a wiring harness for a Pioneer DEH-P7000BT. I bought it without the harness and would like to find an aftermarket harness that fits. It seems Pioneer changes their harnesses in order to stay ahead of the aftermarket game and charge a premium price for the "factory" harness. Any ideas?
I had the same problem. Even the metra universal harness for pioneer wouldn't fit into the back of the deck. You can buy a metra universal adapter for your specific vehicle and have Circuit City hardwire the universal harness into the harness that came with the pioneer unit. Cost was $33.

Does you truck say Infinity anywhere on a door panel or such? If so you need to make sure that the blue wire from the store bought wiring harness is connected to the amp turn on from the pioneer.

You Bet! First go to www.PioneerElectronics.com and go to the Bottom of the Page, Look for Customer Service, Look up your Model and Look for the Harness. If that does not work go to www.Crutchfield.com and Tell them what your Prob is and they can help you get one!
The glovebox is the easiest. I managed to find a "hole" to run the cable through from the compartment to the rear of the head unit. Use a flashlight to help you find possible places to run the cable through. Either shine flashlight from glovebox into console or vice versa. Look for where light shines through to find place to run cable. Use a wire hanger to run cable through the hole if it isn't accessible by hand.
For mic, I just removed the drivers side A-pillar trim and placed wire in there. Attached mic to visor. Some wire is visible, but not much.
You need to get an installation kit that also has the universal wiring harness to connect to the factory harness in the car. That way you only need to match the wire colors of the Pioneer harness to the wire colors of the universal harness and made good connections and insulate those connections. Then the Pioneer harness plugs into the Pioneer radio and the universal harness plugs into the factory harness in the car.
