Turn the computer on.
When you see "press <BLAH> to enter BIOS SETUP", press that <BLAH> key.
Then, use the arrow-keys to navigate through the menu to "Load Default BIOS settings".
Press Enter to execute that command.

This is the Motherboard Manual for the MSI K8N Neo4 series of motherboards. It is in PDF file form,

http://static.tigerdirect.com/pdf/MSI-K8N-Neo4-Series-Manual.pdf

If the direct link above doesn't work, copy the above URL, then paste it in your address bar. Press the Enter key.

It may take up to 30 seconds before you see the first page, and additional time may be required to fully download. This is a temporary download. There is a way to save it to your computer.
(This way you can burn a copy to CD disk for safekeeping, and remove it from the computer to save harddrive space)

If you do not know how, and wish to, please post in a Comment.

At the top of the PDF file is the page number box. It is to the right of the blue down arrow.
Go to Page 39.
There you will see that there is a Clear CMOS button.

Hi, you can download a manual here:

http://www.msi.com/product/mb/K8N-Neo4-F--PCB-1-0-.html#?div=Manual

Here you also find driveres for download.

Here is a youtube video that shows how:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yhKXhu1LFiA

Select first the sata configure the hard drive with windows on
has to be the first one it boots from.

It have probably been added to second when you have reset the bios
And it will not boot.

Controller MSI K8N Neo4 does not work

SHUT DOWN COMPUTER AND CLEAR CMOS BY RESETTING JUMPER ON MOTHERBOARD AND THEN RETURN JUMPER TO NORMAL POSITION OR USE RESET BUTTON. UNPLUG ALL HDD SATA CONNECTORS FROM HDD. BOOT COMPUTER TO BIOS. MAKE SURE ENABLE ALL SATA IS ENABLED, PRESS F10 AND EXIT.YOU WANT TO SHUT DOWN AGAIN. NOW REATTACH SATA HDD AND CONNECTORS AND BOOT TO BIOS AGAIN. NOW HIT F10 AND LET COMPUTER RESTART AND LOAD INTO THE OS. LOGON AND CHECK DEVICE MANAGER..SHOULD BE THERE. IF NOT CHECK MOTHER BOARD WEB SITE FOR BIOS UPDATE. IF BIOS UPDATE DOESN'T DO THE TRICK, SHUT DOWN AND DISCONNECT THE IDE DRIVE, UNLESS IT CONTAINS YOUR OS. TRY BOOTING TO BIOS AND CHANGE ORDER OF 1ST BOOT OPTIONS, HIT F10 AND EXIT AND ALLOW COMPUTER TO BOOT TO OS, THEN LOGON, GO TO DEVICE MANAGER AND REMOVE IDE AND RESTART, ONLY IF THIS HDD DOES NOT CONTAIN OS. YOU SHOULD BE FINE AFTER THIS, OR INSTALL YOUR OS ON THE SATA HDD.

MSI mobo powers up, but no signal to monitor.

i hate to tell you this but it seems your pci or in your case agp exp.slot is most likely melfunctioning if your card works on another computer then that may be your problem one thing you can try is take the mobo out and let it sit for a few days or call msi them selves and they may replace it for you for free they are good about that i have the k8n neo4 with a 7950 1g pci.e with same problem and thats my pci e not working

1long 2 short beeps, No POST/Visual display

Hi there
One Long and Two Short Beeps = Video (Mono/CGA Display Circuitry) issue.
If you are using a PCI Express graphics card remove it and use the on-board VGA/DVI port
If it is the on-board graphics you are using clear the cmos
d015d7b.jpg<<<<< you will see in the picture a plastic jumper (in this case coloured green), move it to the other position and hit the on/off button, then put it back in its original position and power up the machine again. Hopefully the issue will have been sorted.

Good luck and thanks for using Fixya!!

Powers on but no post or any video

Hello!

You say the motherboard was left for a month. Was it plugged to a wall outlet during the time?

There are 2 solutions that I can think of:

1. Unplug the motherboard from the PSU, take out the CMOS battery out and leave it for ~30min,
then take everything back together including the video card (don't forget to plug any additional power cables into the video card), see if it works
2. Some of the neo4 boards have a rather serious problem with draining the CMOS battery very fast for no apparent reason, if you have a multimeter check the battery voltage if it's off by more than 0.2V it needs replacing, you can buy these batteries at any decent electronics or hardware store (or you can take one from another PC for a quick test ;)

Hope this help!
