When I range an object the display has LOB across the bottom. I have changed modes several times as well as battery but cannot get rid of LOB display. The rangefinder still works but the LOB is a nuisance.

E31 is a programming error code. Most of the time this comes from using non-alkaline batteries or from letting a battery die in the unit. "lob" means low battery condition. In these rangefinders "lob" will show up with a new non-alkaline battery installed. Non-alkaline batteries just don't generate enough current for the laser to operate properly. Reprogramming costs about 20 bucks, if it needs an alignment (won't hit a flag or target at 200+ yards >50 bucks<) Oily looking spots in the display are from not using the eyepiece cap and direct sunlight damages the LCD. (15bucks) The address for repair is:
Bushnell Repair Center 8500 Marshall Drive Lenexa, KS 66214
800.423.3537 Send a problem statement, your phone number, and $10 for return shipping.
It sounds like the 9volt battery connector has a broken wire. You maybe able to have it resoldered or send it to Bushnell for repair. If you take upon yourself to open the unit up....You could void your warranty. If it is under 2 years old from the date of purchase, its under warranty. Call Bushnell at 800.423.3537 and ask them. They might have you send it in and replace the unit with a new one.
The "Pinseeker" mode is a automatic mode Sometimes it uses it, somtimes it doesn't. It is designed to recognize a vertical shaft. (Pin) Now IF you hold the power button down....you can see if all of the LCD segments are burning. If the segments fade out later in the game.... (bad LCD) Make sure the Pinseeker mode it on...(flag symbol on the left) Hit the button on the side if you need to. IF it still doesn't lock on to pins, it needs an alignment.
If your Pinseeker Medalist (20-1354) is not showing all the digits in the display.....Return it quickly. You should have 2 years warranty. Look on that little narrow strip on the back. It will show the serial number and the date of manufacturer. (you got 2 years from the date of purchase) If you need to copy your receipt do so. They will fix it.....
The rangefinder is out of alignment. Vibration, dropping these units make small mirrors inside move slightly. Over time the receiver cannot see what the transmitter puts out. Bushnell can fix, 4-5 weeks w/o unit.
