Question about Microsoft Wireless Laser Desktop 4000 Keyboard/Mouse

No sound I installed my wirless mouse and keyboard and now i have no sound. My computer says my speakers are working, so I can't seem to figure out the problem. Please help.

    Microsoft WIreless laser desktop 4000. I too have the same issue. Sound was working perfectly until I installed the wireless keyboard. No issues or conflicts showing and the keyboard works fine. Just no sound. Any suggesstions? Thank you very much for any advice you may have for me to try.

I would try rolling back the driver or seeing if there is an upgraded driver for the hardware...goto cotrol panel, system, then on a tab itll say hardware, click on that then hardware profiles, click on that and find the keyboard (should be at th top) then prefferences then either update driver (id try that 1st) if that doesnt work try rollback driver.

click start control panel,administrive tools,computer management,device manager scroll to cd/dvd rom drives right click properties then properties again then tick enable cd digital cd audio for this cd rom device or scroll to dvd regions select the no _ for your specific area
if your computer came with a motherboard disc the sound drivers could be on it
you might have to uninstall then restart your computer then reinstall both the sound drivers and the sound card make sure you have both of these devices backed up to a disc before uninstalling
a yellow? question mark means you need to install/update driver to do this
right click to install driver also
click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll to sound,video and game controllers you might see a yellow question mark? Right click to reinstall drivers
click start control panel sounds and audio,volume,advanced,speakers select appropriate speakers also audio you will find 3 drop down lists make sure you have the correct settings there
also
click start control panel sounds and audio devices you can adjust the volume there also select speaker volume you can change your settings there you can also tick in the box place icon in taskbar
if his does not fix the problem

have you tried this control panel sounds and audio,volume,advanced,speakers select the appropriate speakers from the drop down list or navigate to the device manager scroll to system devices + to expand,system speaker right click properties then select use this device (enable) also you might check
the speakers plug/outlet is usually at the back of the computer you will have to open up the computer to check the lead attached to the rear of the input plug make sure the connection is good
try cleaning your computer of dust using a fine air blower from a compressor making VERY sure that there is no MOISTURE in the air line specifically around the sound card and the CPU central processing unit dust causes static to build up in a computer
make sure you have the correct keyboard and mouse selected
you might have to uninstall your keyboard and mouse then restart your computer and reinstall them make sure that you have there drivers backed up on a disk before uninstalling them
click start control panel,keyboard select hardware you will see which keyboard it is this will also apply to your mouse
also select properties,general you will have options to troubleshoot,driver roll back uninstall ,update driver
or click start control panel administrive tools computer managent device manager scroll to keyboard you could see a yellow question mark? right click to install drivers

driver for wirless mouse on packard bell site appropriate operating system match ie XP vista etc.
look for small snap switch on ,mouse to ON OFF the device
same as unit holder may have a on off click switch

is it wirless mouse or usb mouse? if its usb try to use another usb port from the computer, if its wirless try to load driver for that mouse.

I just received a new wireless keyboard and mouse and there are no instructions for installing. It just says to see system setup.


Go to hardware/software manager and click the check mark so the wirless keyboard and mouse can actually gain access to your computer

Change the loudness with a keyboard button


you mentioned you changed the keyboard, so it means u got another keyboard and new drivers, if it not working its beacuse new drivers for other keyboard are installed on pc, uninstall the new drivers and install the dell wirless driver, restart the system try again.

Keyboard and mouse have no connection with Monitor
Since keyboard and all are linked with mother board

so firstly i suggest you yo check the wireless connections are ok

Now reinstall the software packages that came with the keyboard(And drivers)

No audio sound after installing the keyboard software


when you loaded the software for the keyboard, the buttons on the keyboard for functions will be active, have you made sure that the mute key on the keyboard is not pressed 'on' to mute the sound?

Microsoft Wireless Laser Desktop 4000, can't use mouse and keyboard simultaniously.


I was playing UT2004 and using the w key it would stop working too puzzled me for days but never figured it out....and now ive ran out of time to play lately so i dont know whats up with it but i have the same keyboard and mouse set and it just seems that this whole set is full of bugs!
