Question about Technics Audio Players & Recorders

1 Answer

I have a SA-203 receiver. I am trying to hook it up to my computer to record my LPs. I have run a stereo cord from the headphone jack to my "line in" on the PC. When I play anything (stereo, turntable or cassette) on my computer, only 1 speaker works. The software that I am using to record (Spin It Again) reports the same problem. Is there a way to fix this, or do I need a new stereo? (I bought this system in 1982).

I did hook up my PC to my SA-203 successfully. I noticed the amplification was weakest when I hooked up through the "phono" connection but in all cases both speakers worked. Be certain you have plugged in the cables completely and the contact points are clean. If you open your Technics SA-203 you will see it is apparently not very complicated so if the connections are the problem you can probably even fix it yourself. Go to Radio Shack online as it is unlikely the sales help knows s**t about there electronics part bins and probably neither will the manager. But once again, I really believe you just need to fiddle with the plug at the "phones" connection on your receiver. Good Luck and sorry I took so long.

You need an 1/8" stereo jack to rca cord. Plug into headphone out on PC then into back of receiver (I.e. aux/cd). Then turn stereo to that input.

Are you trying to play music off your computer through a stereo or receiver??? If so you will need a cord with red & white (rcas's) on one end & an 1/8" jack on the other...Run it out your headphone jack of the pc (usually color coded light green) and turn input of stereo to corresponding input you plug into..

Hello, I have a Sony STR-D85 surround sound system. I need to connect my phone to the system so that my phone's music plays through my surround sound speakers. The front of the console has a headphone...

Headphone jack is an output not input jack. Your going to need a cord to go from your headphone jack(output) of your phone to audio input on your receiver. The cord has a mini stereo plug to the phone and RCA plugs of left and right to your receiver auxiliary input. Good luck..

How to connect speakers to RCA model #RP-8070D

This unit is just a 5 disc CD player and cannot drive large speakers all by itself. Normally it is hooked up to a stereo receiver / amplifier which is what provides the power to drive the speakers which are wired to the back of the stereo amplifier.

If you have a home stereo, then just run the cables from the 2 AUDIO OUT connectors on the back of your CD player to the CD IN connectors on the back of your stereo.

Then turn your stereo on and select CD on your stereo input mode selector and you should be able to play the cds on your RCA and hear them through the stereo speakers.

If you do not have a stereo amplifier with speakers to connect it to, then you can always listen to it through headphones connected to the headphone jack.

Or if you have a set of self powered amplified speakers, like the kind you hook up to a computer, then you can run the AUDIO OUT cable from your cd player into those as well.

Good luck.

We are trying to hook our TV up to our computer to use it as a monitor. What cords do we need to do this besides the normal monitor cord?

if you want audio as well, it will depend on what kind of audio connection your tv has next to the VGA (computer monitor) connection. If it looks like the normal RCA audio, (red and white plugs) you will need to get a male headphone jack (to plug into your computer headphone or speaker out jack) to stereo RCA cable so you would have a headphone jack on one side of the cable and a red and white plug on the other side. Now if your TV just has what look like a headphone jack next to the VGA (computer monitor plug) you will need to buy a male to male stereo headphone jack cable. for both of these, just make sure the cable you get it long enough, or buy an extension.

You need a 3.5MM FEMALE Stereo Jack (looks like a headphone jack receptical) to stereo RCA MALE cord. Then plug it into the RCA monitor or audio out of the TV.
