He fights facing only one way unless he's attacked and then he fights in the direction of the attack and kills others but I can't make him turn or walk... help!!!!! I just got this PSP Gods of War bundle/package for my son and I'm very upset.

The problem you described is a problem INSIDE of the psp. If you know a regular nintendo controller with the 4 direction pads used to control a characters movement that is exactly what is under your joystick inside of the psp. Something is stuck and the only solution is to take apart your psp ( which will void the warranty) or send it in for repairs
actually i also encountered such before. There are lots of games I copied from a friend which are not playing at all. Or which my psp does not read. All I did was press SELECT while on the home menu. Then a special options will appear. It's the M33 VSH MENU (Well, at least that's how mine reads.) Anyway, move to the UMD ISO MODE and press the left and right buttons until you get to choose Sony NP9660 and try playing gods of war now on your unit. There....hope I helped.!
Hello, can you please explain in more detail about what is happening? Maybe if you were playing a lot of PSP, your keys might be jammed up in the circuit boards and when you play a game, some things are kind of pushing it to move the character.
Second question, in the main menu, is anything moving by itself?
Hey, looks like your PSP may have one of these two problems. There are 2 screws on the backside of the PSP System on the side of the analog stick. If either of the screw is loose then the analog stick will move by itself. Second problem is the Analog Stick itself has been damaged. You can replace these very easily if you are good with tools and electronics.
I think there might be a problem with your configuration, remove all plugin then try to restore to default setting on setting menu. and/or if your psp installed Custom firmware, the umd speed are set to fast. do this via recovery menu (hold R trigger while turn on psp). you may need to fix L button if it is stuck. you may consoder sending it back to Sony for repair. You can call SONY support at 1-800-345-7669. hope this helps.
