Ive lost a recovery disk and now i cant reinstall,is there any way i can download off the net and make new recovery disks?

Two seperate issues. You can order new disks on ebay for example but if your product key is unreadable you need to purchase a new key.
See this link to buy - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Microsoft-Windows-Home-Premium-inkl/dp/B008OT79T4/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1426423337&sr=8-2&keywords=windows+7+coa

The Alt + F10 causes the computer to boot from a hidden partition to run the Recovery. If the infection has corrupted or intentionally deleted this partition Alt-F10 will no longer work. The eRecovery uses the same partition. You can format and reinstall using an OEM dvd and the product number from the sticker on your computer or you can contact Acer to purchase Recovery DVDs.
I'm surprised they let you use this for work, Vista reaches EOL and all support stops April 11, 2017 - that's less than a month.

how long did you wait? sometimes on first boot after recovery it take a few minutes. if you don't get any error messages i'd wait and see, if you wait for a long time and nothing happens reboot and try to do the recovery again.

I have 2 problems. My Acer Aspire 560z keyboard types garbage for some reason, so I am using an external KB. Then, I want to restore the laptop to factory settings, but the cd's are lost. I don't...

Keyboard - Do you have the NumLock on?

From the ACER support site:

To start the system recovery:

  1. Restart the computer.
  2. When the Acer logo appears on the screen, press the Alt and F10 keys repeatedly.
  3. If you are prompted with a Microsoft Windows boot screen, press the Enter key.
  4. After the system recovery application has loaded, follow the prompts to reinstall the Operating System.
If the ability to reinstall from the previous method is not available or fails, recovery of the Operating System will need to be from Recovery Media. If you do not have a set of Acer Recovery Media, you may purchase the set online from the Acer Recovery Media Order Form..
Note: If your computer does not have an internal optical disc drive, an external optical disc drive will be required in order to recover the Operating System using Acer Recovery Media.
  1. Restart the computer.
  2. When the Acer logo appears on the screen, press the F12 key repeatedly to enter the computer's Boot Menu.
  3. Press the CD-ROM drive eject button and insert the disc labeled System CD.
  4. Close the CD-ROM tray.
  5. Refer to on screen instructions to select either CDROM or USB CDROM.
  6. The computer will boot from the Acer Recovery Media
  7. When prompted for the Recovery CD, remove the System CD and insert the Recovery CD.
Note: If there are multiple Recovery CDs, please insert the first of the Recovery CDs.
  8. After the system recovery application has loaded, follow the prompts to reinstall the Operating System.
Note: if your computer is unable to run the Acer Recovery process, or errors occur during recovery, please contact Acer support.

Hi there , how do i completly reset my Acer Aspire E380 desktop computer to factory settings again . i have backed up everything i need and i just want to start again completely and wipe it all. any...

Hi.

With that desktop computer being new it should have a hidden recovery partition on the hard drive that allows you to perform a factory restore which will take it to how it was when you took it out the box.

To access the recovery partition on your Acer computer for recovery, follow the steps listed below.

1. Power on the computer
2. At the white ACER BIOS screen, hold the Alt key and press the F10 key simultaneously to start Acer eRecovery.
3. Once eRecovery has loaded, click Restore to Factory Default Settings
4. Click OK to continue
5. From here, the eRecovery process will update all the data on the C: drive and restore a fully functional factory image which should take approximately 10 minutes.
6. Once eRecovery has run, press OK to reboot the computer.

Hope this helps!!!

Regards.

HI,
You can restore the computer back to factory default from the hidden recovery sector on the hard drive. To do this,
Turn off the computer. Turn on the computer and immediately press and hold the "ALT" key while repeatedly tapping the "F10" key.
This will open the recovery console, select full factory restore and follow onscreen instructions. Please note. This will erase all the data on the hard drive so make sure you have got everything saved!!!

You can also create a set to Recovery disk from the recovery partition, to do this
Start, Menu, All Programs, Acer erecovery management and click Create Factory Default Disk, if you receive any error code or unable to burn the disk, please contact Acer Technical
support at 1 800 816 2237 and order a Recovery Disk.

I hope this helps

I have a loptop of Acer Aspire5520.I have to formate now but i lost my system backup & restore disk. How can i get this backup.Pls let me know.

Normally , acer laptops have a hidden recovery partition on the hard drive , which contains all of the recovery data so you dont need the recovery discs.

When you boot up your computer and you get the Acer logo etc , try pressing keys to start the recovery - this puts everything back to factory default settings and erases your data.

Also , A program ships with the laptop called 'Acer Empowering Technology - eRecovery' which allows you to burn your own recovery disc - You then use this disc to perform a complete system restore.

Recovery For ACER 3660

If you have recovery disk try starting them from Windows, or start computer with disk inside and chose 'boot from cd'.
After booting from recovery disc chose complete recovery.
Save a backup of your data, as complete recovery may delete the data.
If recovery disk does not work you will have to install Windows from a generic Windows setup disk, in this case refer to manual for how to.

Here is the user manual, check from page 82
