Hello Nigel, Try to set the proxy in the browser. Open Google chrome >>To the right of the address bar at the end is a wrench type icon click on it >>Almost at the bottom of the list it says options click it >> click on the tab that says "under the hood" >> next click the button that Change proxy settings >> in the next box that pops up click on "never dial a connection" >> next click on the LAN button >> next ensure that all check boxes are clear, with no check marks in them click OK >> then click OK again that should bring you back to the Google chrome options box >> click close Then close out chrome now wait about 10 to 15 seconds to allow for chrome to recognize the new settings >> Reopen chrome and you should be able to use it just fine. Here to help!
clear your cookies. check for a virus. check firewall settings so that google chrome is allowed. if web pages don't come up in other browsers then the error refers to an internet connection error. reset your router.
You need to make sure you've fully downloaded it.
Just to make sure here's the link where I recently downloaded it from -
http://www.google.com/chrome
Download it after you've done that restart your computer. Just to be sure it's fully downloaded.
Once you've restarted your computer and logged back in.....
Simply click on "start"
Then click on "Control Panel"
Once your on control panel go onto "network and internet"
Then click on "internet options"
Then on the tab named "programs"
Then on the internet programs section at the bottom click "set programs"
A new window should open called "default programs"
Click on the top option "set your default programs" (It should take a while to load)
Click on "Google Chrome" If it appears. If it doesn't appear don't worry. It'll still be the same.
Open your "google chrome" browser up. (even if it doesn't work(but make sure your laptop or computer is connected to the internet))
Click on the tools option on the page which is the spanner icon at the top right of the page.
Click on options (eleventh option down)
At the bottom of the Google Chrome Options page they should be a buttom saying "Make google chrome my default browser" Click on that.
Keep on that page click on the tab called "under the bonnet"
Scroll down to the bottom of the page, make sure the bottom options on "check for sever certificate revocation"
with google chrome open press Shift + Ctrl + Delete key at the same time when new window opens go to the Clear data from this period and select last 4 weeks make sure that all is checked off except for passwords this should clear up your issue
