The arm has nothing to do with the drain system.. Chances are your drain filter is clogged and limiting drain water to the pump.. Check near the base of the dishwasher for the drain outlet and see if there is a screen filter of some sort that needs to be cleaned.. Without a brand name and model nuber provided in your question, the only solution I can provide is generic.. Hope that helps ..

Hi, if the water doesn't drain from your dishwasher, check the drain line and pump..

A clog in the drain line or air gap (if there is one) is the usual reason that a dishwasher won't drain. Often the problem is at the point where the drain line attaches to the garbage disposer or household drain line. If you remove this line, you can clear any debris from the hose or hose connection. Be sure to reattach the hose before starting the dishwasher again.

Your dishwasher pump ejects the water. The pump is usually mounted directly to the motor, then attached to the bottom of the dishwasher. You can reach the pump from inside the dishwasher, but first you need to remove the lower rack, the spray arm, and the spray arm support.
Look for an impeller--a round plastic fan blade-type of device that spins around. This is the wash impeller, which forces the water through the spray arm. Beneath the wash impeller is the drain impeller, which is similar in size and shape to the wash impeller. The drain impeller pushes the water toward the drain port. These components make up the pump. If any of the pump components are defective, you need to replace them.

Hope it helps...

WATER DOES NOT DRAIN COMPLETELY

Your dishwasher's drain pump is not designed to work until the water is completely drained but rather in sync with the timer. The motor will stop when the timer stops no matter how much water is left inside the machine.
In your case, either of the following is causing the trouble:
  1. There's a part clogging in the drain line.
  2. A debris is caught in the drain pump impeller.
  3. Drain valve is not opening completely.
  4. Worn belt if your washer uses a belt to drive the pump.
Here's the remedy to each of them:
  1. Remove the drain line to clear any debris from the hose or hose connection at the household drain line connection. Reattach the hose before starting the dishwasher again.
  2. The drain pump is usually mounted directly to the motor and attached to the bottom of the dishwasher. Remove the lower rack, the spray arm, and the spray arm support to reach the pump from inside the dishwasher. Look for the wash impeller, which forces the water through the spray arm. Beneath it is the drain impeller, which is similar in size and shape to the wash impeller. Clear the drain impeller from any debris that prevent it from pumping out water properly.
  3. Sometimes the drain valve solenoid or the diverting lever sticks and prevents the dishwasher from draining properly. Lubricate the lever to free it up. Replace it otherwise.
  4. If your machine uses a belt to drive the pump, the belt may have been worn and cannot drive the pump properly. Replace the belt if that is the case.
Feel free to give updates.

MY DISHWASHER WON'T DRAIN ALL THE WAY WATER STAYS IN THE BOTTOM

Hi

If the water doesn't drain from your dishwasher, check these---

Drain line/air gap -- Clog in the drain line or air gap (if there is one) is the usual reason that a dishwasher won't drain. Often the problem is at the point where the drain line attaches to the garbage disposer or household drain line. If you remove this line, you can clear any debris from the hose or hose connection. Be sure to reattach the hose before starting the dishwasher again.

Pump-- Dishwasher pump ejects the water. The pump is usually mounted directly to the motor, then attached to the bottom of the dishwasher. You can reach the pump from inside the dishwasher, but first you need to remove the lower rack, the spray arm, and the spray arm support.

Look for an impeller--It is a round plastic fan blade-type of device that spins around.

Drain valve and/or solenoid--Dishwashers use a drain valve with an electric solenoid. When electricity flows to the solenoid, the valve opens and diverts the water to the drain. Sometimes the solenoid, or the diverting lever, sticks and prevents the dishwasher from draining or filling properly. Try to free up the solenoid to lubricate the lever. Otherwise, you may have to replace the solenoid or pump assembly.

Please do rate this solution as FixYa if found helpful and revert for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee
