My iginition switch is stuck in the Lock position. I have pressed the brake, tried to turn the key it will not turn. The car is in part and everything. The steering wheel feels really hard and I can not turn it.
When you parked the vehicle, are your front wheels pointing straight ahead or in a turn position. What has happened to me in the past, is the pressure the tires put on the steering wheel lock when in a turn position is greater than the pressure you can apply with one hand on the key.
What you may want to try is turn the wheel in the same direction, therefore relieving the pressure, and you should be able to turn the key. Hope that works for you. jpp
Have you pushed the button behind the key ? Small button between key and dash must be pushed to remove key.

I have the problem of the ignition key no longer working. I've tried everything except the right thing. The button on the column does not exist on my 2000 JGC Limited. I stopped the vehicle in my driveway on snow and now I can move it. I am wondering if there is a link between the steering Column ignition and console shift that would cause this.
MY WIFE PARKED THE JEEP ON THE STREET. THE FRONT WHEELS ARE STRAIGHT AHEAD AND THE IGNITION SWITCH WILL NOT TURN. THE KEY GOES INTO THE IGNITION WITHOUT ANY PROBLEM, THERE IS NO RELEASE BUTTON FOR THE KEY
My Ignition switch is stuck locked position on my 2000 JGC Limited and will not unlock. All attempts thus far have failed to resolve it. Any help toward a resolution would be appreciated.
