Question about SanDisk 2GB Cruzer Micro SDCZ62048A10 Hard Drive

1 Answer

SanDisk Cruzer USB flash Drive 2gb.

A friend bought me a SanDisk Cruzer memory stick but there were no instructions or help of any sort with it and apart from being able to plug it into a USB port I haven't a clue how to store things on it, add information on to it or delete things I do not need.

Any help would be appreciated.

You can format the silly thing and remove all the sandisk junk

format as fat16 or fat32 but NOT ntfs

but then again , if you don't do it in NTFS vista may not see it

I'm gonna test that for you right now i'll take my non working flash drive from vista over to my xp pro machine right fast

ok seems one can not format it in FNTS anyway

but can format in fat 16 or fat 32

vista still won't see that , but might

if not we move to phase 2 , which means it's vistas fault

I'm working on that right now because I want my readyboots

hehehe

    Ok here's the low down.

    1. Move the flashdrive to the Primary USB port or Primary USB ports.

This will elliminate the potential of your other USB ports being a culprit for right now while you work.

the primary USB ports are the ones located on the motherboards back plane.

Make sure your USB ports are enabled and have an IRQ assignment

you can do that by checking in the BIOS

Once you've established that the USB ports are enabled and have an IRQ assignment in the bios

that you download and install and microsoft critical updates and service packs

USB 2.0 is enabled by installing service pack 2

at this point if you should see the orange light remaining ON

    that means everything is ok...

    FixYa!

Hello I bought 3 x 2gb cruzer usb sticks to run music on my sony hi fi they are not recognised..do they need formatting?

You could format them yes, but sometimes the device will not recognize certain memory sticks. You could call sony and see if those are supported USB sticks.

When I plug my new SanDisk 2GB Cruzer USB 2.0 Flash Drive into my computer, it says the drive is read only- How can I fix this?

If this is the U3 SanDisk Cruzer....U3 drives present themselves as two devices. One of them appears as a read-only CD drive that contains all the **** programs and the other is the writeable USB stick part. It comes with two partitions on it, one for data, and the other called "U3 Partition" which is read-only.

I have a sandisk 2gb cruzer micro usb flash drive but it is not working from last some days what cani do , can i replace it from nearest sandisk centre.

You might be able to if it is under warranty, otherwise no.

Sometimes when a flash memory stick fails because it was not removed from the USB port properly. If the device is removed by just pulling it out of the USB port, it can cause the flash device to fail, you must click on the Safely Remove Hardware icon on the Task Bar and select the device you wish to remove and only do so when instructed to do so.

When the flash memory device appears to malfunction it maybe possible to restore it by reformatting it. Insert the flash drive into the USB port then Click on Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Computer Management - Disk Management.
Then right click on Disk 1 removable drive and click Format. After the flash drive has been formatted it will indicate that it is Healthy.

Cruzer Micro 8GB flash drive - no user manual

Open Windows Explorer on your PC. You should see it there when you expand the "my computer" tree on the left side (click the + symbol next to 'my computer'). It will show up as a drive letter, depending on how many hard drives and optical drives you have in your system, it could be drive letter "E", "F" or even higher. It will probably say "Cruzer" next to the drive letter. All you have to do is drag and drop your files onto the drive letter. Simple, you don't need instructions.
