Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

I have just installed a 256MB SODIMM card on a Compaq Armada E500 laptop. On first boot up the laptop will not boot and I am getting an intermittent sound like an alarm. I didn't have the user manual as the laptop was bought second hand and I removed the back of the laptop to find the SODIMM location. I eventually found them behind the keyboard. Can you advise what to do to resolve this?

Remove the memory card and try again, the alarm sound you can hear is probably a BIOS warning beep telling you something is not right (miss match with the RAM card you put in).
If the new card has any writing on it like manufacturer or speed details check the compatibility with www.crucial.com
