My emachine t3085 freezes up on the computer name screen after reformatting the hard drive

First, you don\'t format from NTFS to NTFS to clean a hard drive when installing a OS. Formatting is for changing a format not cleaning. You use a program like boot and nuke, Active kill disk, these zero the drive.

Place the windows disc in or USB drive in, what ever the OS is on, and hit F8, F11, what ever the boot menu is to boot from cd drive or flash drive.

I have been building top of the line computers for over 10 years, never heard of a bypass, you have a BIOS, there are boot settings, there are not many settings in your BIOS. What ever the problem is, its a BIOS setting.

it is possible that one of the three are going out on the computer, motherboard, harddrive, power supply, only a computer tech could tell which one.

Ever since I spoke to Verizon about a problem last month with my modem, I keep getting cut off line. After 5 or 10 minutes, I try to get online and get a little window with this message: Up in the...

Hi,
Two resons can cause this problem
1. Loose network cable from the computer to the modem
2. Incorrect browser settings on the computer.

I guess you might have reseated the network cable coming from computer to the modem /router
In case you have not then this would be the first step to start with.

Second restart your computer and at the Dell logo screen tap F8 key a couple of times . You would get a screen windows advance options menu.Select safe mode with networking , using your arrow keys on the keyboard . Hit enter . Login as the adminstrator , try using the internet if the interent works fine in the safe mode with networking without disconenction , restart the computer and reset the browser settings.

In case you need more support , post back with the results of the steps given above

Thanks for using fixya

Adjust your Display Properties as it was probably affected by the virus. On the other hand, Reinstall the video software driver from the disc that came with your computer. Please let me know of the outcome. Thank you and regards.

My pavilion s3100n when turned on just makes this clicking sound and the screen says "failed to boot replace disk and press enter" any clues

The clicking sound is most likely the "Click of Death" an indicator of a failed hard disk drive. The drive is having a hardware malfunction and the read/write armature in the drive is moving back and forth against the internal stops (this gives the click)
Replace the hard drive in the system

When I pressed the button on the tower to turn it on, nothing happens. What could be wrong?

im assuming the pc is plugged in and if there is a switch in the back of the computer by the plug it is set to on.

assuming the above is correct try moving your computer to another wall outlet. also leave the computer unplugged for about 10 minutes and try again.

No Sound

Please try to check the sound device status if its working properly thru right click My Computer icon > Properties > Hardware tab > Device Manager > (double click) Sound, Video & Game Controller OR System Device > System Speaker. also, take note of the Troubleshoot tab. If still it doesn't work, I think you have to reinstall the sound driver (from its motherboard software CD if it's built-in type). best regards
