I have two Orion TV1929B televisions. One seems to be older than the other. the newer one does not respond to the remote and even a new remote made no difference

The older one is very hard to turn on and off. But once you get it on it has a better picture. Because the older one is so hard to turn on I am using the newer one. I found a fuse on the floor where the TV sits. How can I find where it goes? Can I assume it goes to the one that is NOT plugged in?

Hello anglersquest,

It is usually located near the power supply section. unplug the TV, open the back of the TV and look for a small glass cylinder with two metallic ends. This will be the fuse, now to check it do a visual inspection and you should see a clear cylinder with no internal dark smuges (good) has smudges (bad). Then if you have an ohmmeter set it to the 1xR setting and measure the fuse ends it should read 0 ohms if the fuse is good and no reading if the fuse is bad.

I hope this helps

Thank you,

    Hello anglersquest,

Since lightning is a common problem I would suggest that you check the following components. The voltage regulator in the power supply, ah first I must ask, was the TV in a surge protector? Because I would expect for the fuse to actually be bad in this case, however check your surge protector first. The check the voltage regulator. Then possible the power FET (if used) in the switching power supply. The check the IHVT (Integrated High Voltage Transformer) and the HOT (Horizontal Output Transistor for possible shorts to ground.

or you can take it to your local TV repair shop.

Might I suggest if you don't want to repair the set that you could possibly take it to your local Vocational High School as a donation.

    I hope this helps,

    Thank you,

Do orion sub have fuses?

No, subwoofers are not fused, however, amps are. If you're having a power supply issue you might check the fuse located on the amp itself, or any inline fuses that may be installed on the wire powering your amp. Inline fuses are generally mounted right next, or sometimes, attached directly to the car battery.

Have 8 yr old Orion tv-new remote control for satilite Dish network wont turn tv on--need to know what orion tv codes are.we tried everything tech said to do ,need to know what orion tv codes are..lost the...

We would be happy to help you with getting your new DISH Network remote to control your TV. We're going to start by pressing and holding the TV button located on the top of your remote until all mode button back lights come on, and then release. Use the number buttons to enter the codes for your Orion TV; here are some of the codes we currently have for it: 720, 748, 748, and 748. Press the pound (#) button. To check that the code works try several different functions on the remote to make sure it will properly operate the TV. Remember that some codes may not be compatible with your equipment. If this is the case, try the other codes listed for your Orion TV until you find one that is compatible with it.

We hope this helps and thank you for being a valued DISH Network customer!

I have an Orion TV Mod TV1933b

Unfortunately, with most TVs this function is located only on the remote. If you could do it without the remote there would be a button on the panel of the TV labeled accordingly.

To purchase a replacement remote (a universal remote won't work with that model TV) call Fox International at 800-321-6993. They are the largest Orion parts distributor that I know. Orion doesn't sell parts directly to the public.

I hope I've provided you useful assistance and that this information allows you to make an informed decision as to how to proceed from here. Please be sure to vote on my response. I hope I've earned a good rating from you today.

Please post a comment if you need additional assistance so that I can help you further.

Orion TV 1934

You might try substituting a new fuse. Be sure the replacement has the same rating. You may have a short in your power supply and depending on the type of supply the supply may not start up if it has overload protection. Stargazer
