How do I repair the keypad / input buttons?

Unfortunately, you are probably looking at a better choice of replacing the microwave rather than repairing the one you have. It probably needs a new control board and those usually will cost almost as much as a new microwave just for the part and not including any labor you might have to pay someone to install for you. Sorry!

Model Goldstar MS-71tc. when I plug the microwave in it on and the table spins and light inside is on as though it is microwaving something. But there is no heat being generated.I put something in to try...

The problem is in the magnetron "more likely" or the high voltage transformer that drives the magnetron. The cost to repair will run high in either case and come down to a personal choice, but! in the long run cheaper to buy new than to repair.

Dear Sir, I have a Goldstar MV-1320W microwave. Tonight, for no apparent reason a loud blowing noise started. It sounded different than the usual fan and would not respond to anything from the keypad. I...

I'd suspect the relay located on the pcb to be shorted, as in the contacts welded/stuck together.  This isn't available separately from Goldstar, as it comes with the circuit board.  The board will probably be prohibitively expensive.  If you have the know-how, remove the board so as to make working on it easier.  Remove the relay lid and using a points file or emery cloth, clean them up.  My experience with this, is the repair works great.  The relay lid may never fit again, as most of them are "sealed", and not designed for removal.  Of course, a replacement relay with roughly the same specs could replace the defective one.  These are usually 120v spst, normally open.

Goldstar MV1501W control pad not working

You have a failed membrane keypad.

If you (or someone you know) might want to replace it yourself, I have uploaded a handy guide with pictures showing you what's typically involved.

To order Goldstar / L.G. parts, visit Vance Baldwin Electronics. You'll probably have to call them.

If you would like to have us do this repair for you, we do that for $39.95 plus part costs.

Feel free to contact me directly (and please remind me of your model number) for more information & help.

Goldstar

The first thing to try is a "hard reset". Unplug it from the power line for a few minutes, plug it back in, set the clock, then try again.

Otherwise, you may have a failing keypad. It can fail due to age, moisture, etc.

PLEASE Let us know if the hard reset doesn't fix it.

We have the service manual available to us.

Power is on, but won't cook

First, be sure the child lock is off. It may have an "L" or the word "LOCKED" showing in the display. You can unlock it by pressing and holding the CLEAR pad for 5 seconds or so. Your model may use a different key, maybe the "0" (zero) key. If that doesn't fix it, since it's still under warranty you should grab your sales receipt and your owner's manual and call LG / Goldstar customer service at 1-800-243-0000 to find the nearest authorized servicer. There may be some foreign substance on the circuit board or inside the layers of the keypad. Most commonly this is due to spray cleaner being sprayed directly onto the keypad. Cleaner should be always sprayed on a soft cloth first, then use the cloth to wipe the keypad clean. Always use alcohol-based cleaner on microwaves, never ammonia-based cleaner, which can crack and/or warp the plastic. If this is what has happened, it would not be covered under warranty, and it may or may not be repairable. A handy person can remove the control panel frame and see if there's any liquid inside on or behind the panel. If so, it is possible to dry it out with an air compressor or heat, but often that does not work.
