9600gt card, mouse freezing in games

Hi sandrew.
Thanks for reply. My graphic card has latest drivers. How do i check the dpi compatability of my mouse and what do i do about it. It is the advent ad2 wireless mouse and keyboard. I have also found that if i do a system diagnostic report in reliability and performance, it list ps2 mouse and keyboard as not working or drivers not installed. As my mouse and keyboard run on usb, how do i get rid of this. Thanks for your help.

You can't get rid of the PS2 because thats where it looks for the mouse, being usb it's not listed in dxdiag, there should be a mouse menu from your mouse and keyboard driver, or in control panel to tweak the Dpi

Are the cards in SLI Mode? If so, that might be the problem. Since SLI isn't very well developed as of now, and there sill are some compatibility issues. I suppose you do have two identical cards, otherwise, the drivers may not work well. You should update the drivers when the programs are not running; generally, you don't need to, but to be on the safe side.

You can try removing the cards from SLI mode temporary if you really need to. Also, if the latest drivers you downloaded doesn't work, don't update it. If there are newer version, then try them. Often, the companies can't anticipate for all of the problems whenever they release an update.

Sounds like your card has been overclocked and become unstable. There is a piece of software called Guru 3D available on the internet that will let you reduce the clock speed on your card. Try that, a little at a time, DON'T change anything else, and see if it helps.
