46 inch Samsung HD clicks but won't turn on. First notice several weeks ago when using remote to turn on tv, it would click a few times and come on. Over a period of time, it would click for longer and longer periods of time before turning on. Now it clicks constantly and will not turn on.

Hi
A common problem for these is bad capacitors in the power supply, Remove the back from your Tv and look at the power supply on the left hand side.

You will see roughly around 9 x capacitors that are bulged / domed shaped on top usually these are valued at 3300uf 10V any that have bulged or leaked a brown like substance should be changed.
This will cure the problem as they overheat being sat next to a heatsink that gets very hot!
Try and change them for the same 3300uf but a higher voltage.
Hope this helps

Startup takes hours, help?

The clicking suggests a power supply issue, a old trick I use in cases like this is a hairdryer, Try to heat (don't melt things) different boards carefully until you get a dramatic reaction, considering the brand which I do not like much less endorse, what is there to lose.

If you pinpoint the issue to one board try to locate that board.

1. the motherboard might be bad and you will need to replace it. 2. or The power supply is bad
Chances are if its making clicks the power supply is bad and you will need to replace it. Which makes sense because constantly powering the tv on and off will damage the power supply or possibly short out your motherboard. These things usually cost about 200 bucks to fix at a local tv repair store.

1. It is not a two years old TV, but a 9 years old one.
2. The common problem of the symptoms is a defective main power supply, you may check to see that are there anny "Pup-Up" electrolytic capacitor on the power supply, if there is any, replace them, you may fix up the TV

TV clicks constantly, as if trying to turn on/off.

Probably a bad main board or T-CON board or both. If you're trying to fix yourself, try disconnecting the cable (LDVS) from the small board (T-CON) at top center of the LCD panel and see if it still cycles. Note, be very careful with that cable, it is very delicate. If it still is cycling off and on, then it is probably the main board. A slight chance it may be the power board also.
