I have a data cable provided along with my KODAK M550 camera. When I tried last time 15-20days before, my pc was able to detect the camera but now its not. For last 15days I had been using the same data cable to transfer data to my samsung mobile phone.
Even I re-installed the software from KODAK website but its not working. What could be possible solution for the same.
Data cable is USB one.
Have you tried NOT connecting your camera to your computer? The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.Have you tried NOT connecting your camera to your computer? Check the battery of your Camera, check to see if there is any leakage if it does then replace it with a new battery. If not there is no other way but to bring your Camera into any nearest Kodak Dealer near you.
I had the same problem and discovered that the orange clip inside the batter/memory card slot wasn't locking down the battery for charging. Try playing with the orange clip a bit to see if it will click into place. Worked for me.
When you want to charge the camera, plug it in and also open the battery door. Don't know why that works, don't know why Kodak doesn't tell customers in the manual to do that, but it does work. Have the battery door open also while charging.
OK, the first step will be to take out your memory card. Now, plug the camera into the computer using the USB data cable. Now, copy all the photos on the internal memory of the camera to the computer and delete it when the copy process is done.
Now, you just place back the memory card into the camera again, and the problem should be sorted lout.
Please feel free to let me know of you need any further assistance.
Yes I am also having same problem. Kodak M550 is basically still photo shooting camera. It is not video player. If you will play that recording on pc or other any equipment you will hear good sound. It records normal speaking better not best quality.
after you have installed nokia pc suite in your computer plug the data cable and restart your computer. it should automatically detect. if not switch off and on your phone along with the cable connected. if still not detected the you have bought the wrong data cable
