Question about Epson CX8400 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Papers I cannot print on card stock paper or transparency film in my CX8400.  Any ideas?   My old Epson 740 did the card stock and I had hoped the CX8400 would be an upgrade.

Everytime I try to print a transparency, my printer jams.

I too cannot print on 80# paper. Any ideas?

The printer simply refuses to acknowledge injet transparency film. It feeds through without any apparent problem but a paper jam message comes up every time.

I have tried to print on velum and card stock and get printing errors every time. I had to tape my velum to a piece of 20# paper to "trick" the printer into printing on it.

I just bought an Epson Artisan 700 printer and it will not print transparencies. All of my older printers did with no problem. This is one of the main reasons I need a printer.

Correct setting for Epson Workforce 7520 printing on gloss paper

You need to start with photo glossy paper that's designed for an Epson printer. HP paper may not work well, and some other papers don't work either. Try some Epson paper, and that should work fine.
You can also try other paper settings, such as "transparency" or "matte paper", as the paper setting governs how much ink is laid down. I think getting the right paper is really what you need, though. Ink "puddling" is a common Epson complaint, and it's almost always the paper.

Trying to print transparency on 8400. Printer just pulls film through without printing it and indicates there is a paper jam. What's the deal?

This is due to rays from the PW sensor is not reflected back to the sensor. But do not worry, you can put a white sticker about 1 cm in width and length of about 2 cm on both corners transparent media.

Keeps saying paper jamed when I try to print

On the Epson website it is confirmed that the Epson WorkForce 610 will not recognize transparency media. It is just the way the printer works; if it can see through the media, it doesn't think it's there.
However.....you can tape a sheet of white paper to the non-printable side of the transparency, and it prints just fine. I put two strips of scotch tape on either side, top and bottom. Works great. It's kind of a hassle, but better than not being able to print transparencies at all!

Printer won't accept Card Stock

Nothing to adjust feed mechanics. If it's temporaly print, you must feeed paper 1 by 1, and when printer grab paper, push paper by hand. If it's routine print, you can adjust the pick up rubber at paper feedr mechanic. Add double tape ( 1 mm, soft) below top rubber. I have done it, and printer can grab/feed paper up to 350 grams.

Epson Stylus cx5 series

Is media transparent? Epson paper sensor think that no paper. Put white stiker at top left and right of media (about 1 cm height and 2 cm width). It's for tricky sensor.

Can the RX 680 print out transparenies? Where can we get the transparency paper.

Very very risky. It takes a long for the ink to dry and will probably smear. I personally would not try it.

Color transparencies are dark & poor color

Hello,

Nice printer.. Hope this will give hints. Considering transparency papers, please try another batch of or a piece of transparency paper. Try to adjust also the graphics preferences (dark to light) aside from transparency paper selection. Have a nice day.

Best regards,
