If there is no cooling at all , before we go further we must confirm the first step of confirming the compressor and gas pressure. So shut off the fridge and leave it off while you clean and check the evaporator for frost. If frost is seen it is a good indication as the compressor is working with sufficient gas within.
Now after about 6 hours plug in the fridge to start. Observe cooling to happen in about one hour and ice to from under three hours.
Earlier make sure that the thermostat was set to normal mode for freezer and fridge. If there is no ice formation we have a big issue as the compressor and gas must be checked out. If compressor is running check the pressure, get help to test gas pressure. If not you will need to fill up ,If gas pressure is good the possibility of the compressor being inefficient is high. In such a case you must take consensus to estimate and decide, if RPM of motor is low check capacitor.
However if Ice forms then observe the fridge for about 24 hours for cooling to continue and the fridge to cut off . If not the auto defrost timer, or the thermostat must be checked.
If defrost timer works but frost keeps forming check while the compressor shuts if the heaters are working, check continuity of the heaters.
So try this test from the outside and make your observations so that we come to the solution.

I have a 754 Taylor soft serve machine and the mix freezes up on one side in the bin

I am assuming that it is the left side that is freezing up? Is there a large disparity in temperature from the left side to the right? Your machine monitors the temperature on the right side hopper and that will determine the temp of both sides. If there is a large temperature difference between the two sides then it may be that you are low on refrigerant. You may have enough refrigerant to cool the left side but not the right side and since the machine only monitors the right side, it wont shut off the mix refrigeration system which could cause the left side to freeze up.

Why does my A/C blow little to no air, that's not cold, and how do I fix it?

Air Conditioner freeze ups cause an A/C to blow little to no air through the vents, and the air is usually warm.

There are three basic reasons for air conditioner freeze ups:
  1. Insufficient air flow
  2. Low Refrigerant charge
  3. Outdoor temperature
1) The two most common causes of insufficient air flow are dirty filters and under sized ducts. A dirty filter limits air flow which in turn allows the cooling coil’s temperature to drop below freezing. Replacing the filter, monthly, usually alleviates this problem. Under sized ducts will also cause the system to freeze because it also limits the amount of air flowing over the cooling coil. This results in lowering the coil temperature and allowing the humidity in the air to collect on the coil and freeze.

2) Low Refrigerant Charge. The refrigerant system teeters on a delicate balance. If the system is not charged correctly, the system will not function properly. This malfunction may result in the poor cooling output and/or freezing up. Only a qualified, certified service technician can properly test and charge a refrigerant system. Check your small high pressure line (should be hot) and low pressure line (should be cold, but not frozen).

3) Outdoor temperature. If temperatures are too low, the system will not operate properly, and freeze up may occur. The outdoor unit does not function well in temperatures below 60 degrees F. A special “ambient temperature” control must be installed to allow the unit to run properly in cool temperatures, or you may open your windows and save energy. If the A/C is set lower than 70 degrees F, special adapters are required to be installed.

My 18 year old refrigerator GE model TFX24FG freezer side is not keeping food frozen. Refrigerator side seems to be working normally.

The refrigerator side is at present working properly , but slowly slowly, it will also loose its cooling. This will happen because, freezer side is the side which cools first, then the refrigerator side ( also called as fridge side)., gets cooled. If freezer side is not cooling / freezing properly then fridge side will also loose its cooling ability.------------ And later on both section will loose its cooling.----------- As per the present situation, it indicates problem with compressor or problem with freezer side door not closing properly.---------- Or the temperature in freezer section is not set to proper cooling/ freezing.--------- So first inspect temperature, is it set right? If ok, then check the freezer door , is it properly closed? If ok, then its compressor problem.? The compressor is running non stop, this is indication of compressor problem.---------- Click this link below for more help:--- http://technoanswers.blogspot.com/2011/06/both-refrigerator-and-freezer-not.html ----------- Later on both section will loose its cooling. -------- This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

Not cooling very good anymore. its cool but not that good! all the settings work. one thing i did notice is that ice builds up on the cooling coil from compressor! ( ge room ac model # ast05lcs1...5500...

Your intuition is right, the ice buildup is why it's not cooling so well now: the evaporator isn't getting the correct air flow and surface area for heat exchange. The 1st thing you might want to check is to make sure that it's draining properly. The 2nd thing you might want to do is to check that the room is over 100 sqft. If you'r only cooling a tiny bedroom, the AC's basically oversized: your cooling already cooled air, so it freezes. The actual reason that is freezes is because the condition is just right for the immediate area near the evaporator to be at the saturation point. Think of it in terms of weather: warm and humid air collides with cool air and it begins to rain. The temperature drops further, and the rain turns into snow. One thing you could try to make it not freeze-up is to adjust the temperature setting a few degrees or change the fan speed.

Iceream is not freezing

The temperature is not set to high cooling.First check the temperature setting. But if temperature is set right and still the ice cream is not cooling then .Problem relates to weak compressor. ------------- The problem is weak compressor. The refrigerant ( R12) in the compressor is got low.The compressor is weak. The compressor needs to be replaced.-------------- The working procedure of this unit is as follows: --- The compressor starts then it cools the freezer section. When the freezer reaches its cooling level the defrost cycle starts functioning. In this cycle the fan in the freezer section starts running and the cool air in the freezer section is passed to the fridge section and the fridge section gets cold. The air from freezer to refrigerator passes from the section, in that section the damper is located.------------ But as you mentioned that ice cream is not freezing, so that means freezer is not freezing to its required temperature.------- This indicates problem with compressor. When compressor cools the freezer section then fridge section gets cold.If freezer section is not getting properly cold then fridge section will not cool properly/.So the problem relates to compressor.---------- In the compressor there is a refrigerant called FREON.With the help of this Freon the compressor cools the freezer section.Freon is a gaseous type cooling agent. The compressor will stop cooling when coolant gets leaked from its chamber.--------- Again recharging the Freon is possible, but the cost for that recharging is approx the cost of new compressor. So its always advisable to get compressor replaced.Because new compressor has warranty for few years.------------------ You can get required parts from from online sites like: --- www.repairclinic.com or from searspartsdirect online site. --------- This should help.Thanks.Helpmech.

Fridge stop cooling , found that the charge in the compressor was very low, recharge with 5 oz and now the copper line is freezing , i unplugged it for about 2 hours and retry same freezing issue

First check and make sure that you use the right amount of freon. Freezing line is an indication of not enough freon. Also check the manufacturer's label for the correct amount to add. Make sure you weigh the refrigerant carefully while charging. You may want to obtain the refrigerant Pressure/Temperature chart to make sure you have the correct pressure. Allow refrigerator to run for a while and check pressure versus temperature. Correct pressure as needed to stop freezing.

My airconditioner lines keep freezing up

Your filter is plugged, or the refrigerant is low, or it is getting too cold outside overnight (less than 60degf)
