Presuming you are referring to a remote controlled helicopter I have seen many hit something or crash and the set screw for the blade to the shaft has come loose or left the building. If so the repair is frustrating but achievable with diligence and a bit of determination.
Does it feel very hot to the touch after it shuts down, and/or does it make a loud noise before crashing?? if so could be a problem with the fan, check that theres not too much dust build up in the exhaust fan port. if there is, either blow/use compressed air to clear the blockage
I use a microsd to load files that i havent tried on the device before, to test safely. If it crashes then i can simply remove the microsd and clear it. If the "bad" or incorrecly encoded files are loaded onto the internal memory of the device then you will be unable to clear or bypass the "building library" stage and the device is bricked. Take it back to where you bought it and get it replaced if this happens, that's what I had to do when I bricked it.
Maybe we all need to write to iriver and request much improved firmware that allows wiping of the internal memory BEFORE the build library stage as well as the option to disable or an improvement of the "build library" functionality. A simple solution would be to set a flag in a config file whenever files are added to the device and it doesnt do a build library unless the config flag says new files are present and that it is required.
This is a thermal signal to you that there is not enough airflow over the processor and the processor can be damaged, if the machine is crashing it is a warning that something has to be done or damage will result. The laptop has to be disassembled, cleaned with compressed air, the heatsink will have to be removed and the thermal pad or thermal grease on the processor should be serviced (replaced). Below is the service and repair guide link. It is free to copy, save and print for reference.
