If it is one sub with one amp, one remote needs to be hooked up. Not familar with your exact set up, but should stay constant for all. The remote signals the amp to turn on power when the deck is turned on thats it.

Where does the remote wire connect to on a1995 dodge viper? This is a aftermarket radio? It needs to connect so that the amps will turn on. Thank you

If you're using an aftermarket harness there should be a blue wire, that's for the remote. Otherwise, you can connect to the factory Red/White wire since that's a switched 12v source.

Keep blowing fuse for radio what is colr of constant wire

The constant 12 volt wire is yellow. The accessory ( switched 12 volt wire) is red. The blue (power antenna) and blue/white (remote amp turn on) are also switched 12 volt wires. Make sure that they are not being grounded.

When hooking up a amp to a kenwood kdx-x494 the amp only work when tuner is on. When iPod running through USB port the amp turns off. Can't think of what I'm doing wrong.

Swap the blue wires. You have used the power antenna blue wire for the remote turn on for the amp.

The problem is - when the tuner goes off - so does the power on the power antenna remote.

Swap the blue wires, and you'll be all set.

I have a fusion sub and amp and have no instructions on how to wire this can somone please help ive got green wires red wire and a small thin blue wire

Hello nicole_murra,

The green wires are for signal input to the included amp and should be connected to a pair of RCA preamp outputs on your head unit. The thin blue wire connects from "remote" on the amp to a switched 12V output on the head unit (usually blue or blue/white). The red wire is for power and goes through the fuse to positive battery. You also need to connect the amp terminal marked "ground" to the metallic chassis of your vehicle, within a distance of about 1/2 meter or less. There's usually a short piece of wire with black insulation included in most amp wiring kits. If your Fusion sub did not come with such a wire, you can use any wire that is the same gauge (or bigger) than the red power wire.

Hope this helps.

I just bought a Kenwood KDC-X493 and installed it in my Alero. I hooked it up to an amp and a sub and it only works with the tuner and not and Ipod or an auxilary hookup or even a cd. what is wrong.

Hello jarhead455,

It sounds like the remote terminal on your sub amp is not properly connected. The KDC-X493 has a wire to turn on a remote amp (Blue/White) and a wire for a power antenna (Blue). If the blue wire is connected to the amp remote terminal, the amp will only turn on when the tuner source on the receiver is selected. If the correct wire is connected, the problem is most likely in the receiver.

If the receiver is at fault, not under warranty, and you still want to use it, you can connect any fused 12V+ to the amp remote terminal. A simple way is to jumper a short wire between the power and remote terminals. Wire the jumper through a SPST switch conveniently located so that you can turn it ON and OFF as desired.

Hope this helps.
