Thats hard to tell I can be many things from GPU overheating or damaged, to a bad connection on the board that sends the signal out to the TV. The only way is if you can open your xbox by yourself and check for any burn circuits or checking the GPU and the heatsink, and check if it has the thermal compound on it also.

How to join xbox 360 to new tv

The AV cable you are using is an older model known as "Composite". You need a newer AV cable known as "Component". These should be available at a local video game store, such as Gamestop.

New xbox 360 arcade no screen or sound

to start off, what type of cable are you using??
since you've already tried using 2diff TVs,basically its with the console

try using a different AV CABLES, if it still doesnt work, try calling xbox support hotline for possible replacement of your cable or for processing a repair for the xbox if necessary..

since you just bought your console, try going back to the store where you bought it and have it replaced, because for the repalcement of the cable if you call xbox support,it will take 8-12business days for toureceive it and 2-3weeks for the turn around time of the repair for the xbox.

360

I would reccomend checking both the TV's input jacks and the Xbox's output slot. If you got a new AV cable, then the odds that that cable are faulty are slim.

Try your new AV cord on a friends 360 if you have a friend with one. See if it works.

I found a microsoft troubleshooting Web Article that may help you solve your problem.

Re-post and tell me how it works out or if you need more help.

Hope this helped,

My Xbox 360 keeps showing a black screen

1. Get 3 towels then switch your Xbox 360 on.
2. Wrap the Xbox 360 in the towels [Note - You must cover the WHOLE Xbox otherwise it won't work].
3. Leave your xbox for 25 mins in the towels.
4. When the 25 mins is over take off the towels of and let your Xbox 360 to cool for 20 minutes, enjoy fixed gaming for the next 4-7 days. Once you get a blank screen repeat this process.

[Why Overheat it?]
When overheating it you attempt to solder the dis-connected wires back to the motherboard.
I recommend getting it fixed instead.

[What does it Fix?]
This fixed the Red Ring of Death, and the Blank Screen of Death

[DANGER]
I do not take responsibility for this. This is mainly for those without warranty or money to repair.

The premise is to wrap the towel around the 360 and to let it heat up. This will weaken solder points and hopefully re-join broken connections. The problem with this method is that you have no control over what solder points are weakened and there is no way to prevent further damages caused by the heat. It is better to send a 360 in for repair with the three year warranty that MS put on the 360s, because if you try the towel method and then send it in for repairs, they will know by the solder points being misshapen and it will void your warranty forcing you to pay for the repairs.

No picture or sound on the tv

where you put the cables for the sound and picture if you look on the end where you plug it into the xbox 360 you will see a little switch it has HD and TV on it depending on what your tv supports (HD ready TV) (normal TV) switch that switch to what TV you have (e.g. HD TV, switch the switch to HD) if that doesnt work then try checking that you have all the cables in the right ports if you have pluged the HD cables into a normal TV then this is not going to work, check cables and check the switch!

Help

There are solder issues, so something to try is just leave the xbox on for an hour, turn off let cool for 5 min. If that doesn't work, it's a difficult solution to recommend but the towel trick' does work, let it over heat the 360 for about 20 min, then let it cool for 20 more min, and it now works fine, I have a inner cooler now to keep from overheating again. Also don't take apart the xbox, if this doesn't work then just send it back to microsoft

Xbox 360

Hi, I hope something from below is useful to you...

Sections 1, 2, 3, and 4 are flashing red
- The AV cable cannot be detected

1. Make sure that the AV cable is correctly connected to the Xbox 360 console.

2. Disconnect the AV cable from the Xbox 360 console, and then reconnect the AV cable to the Xbox 360 console.

3. If the four flashing red lights continue to flash, try wiping the metal area of the AV pack with a dry cloth. The metal area is the end that plugs into the console. Wipe the metal area thoroughly, and then try the AV Pack again.

4. If the AV cable is correctly connected but the four red lights are still flashing, substitute a different AV cable if you have one available.

If this is helpful in any way, please rate! Thanks

Color problems with 360

It sounds to me like a problem within the 360s hardware itself. You could try sending it back to microsoft or like you said, going out and getting a new one.
