You will need a new valve assembly. ( part # 43513014, msrp $3.62 ) Place the rubber seal in first, then wet the valve and push it in with your thumb.

Steam Vac Is Not Dispensing Soap

Try using a rubber tipped air nozzle and compressed air at the end of the soap dispenser line. Brief intermittent blasts of air should take care of it.

I have a Hoover Steam Vac Dual V and the brushes no longer turn. Can it it fixed? Model # F7431-900

your belt is probably brokan. underneath the machine you will see some screws carefully take them out writing down which screw went where. than you can pop the plate off and look in there and see if your belt is brokan. If it is the belt number is important to find in your book that came with the machine. hope this helps you.

My Hoover steam vac dual v clean water and detergent tank leaks water before attached to the vac and during cleaning

This is a common problem with the earlier models which had a separate soap tank glued to the clean water tank. The plastic was too thin beneath the valve on the clean water side and would develop cracks. You most likely will need a new one piece tank. ( Part # 42272104)

Hoover steam vac dual v carpet cleaner has stopped dispensing soap. Water is still flowing fine

You probably have a solenoid valve which has failed and will not open. This will require replacement of the valve. For temporary use you can mix a soap solution and put it in the rinse tank. The correct mix is 5 ounces of Hoover shampoo to a gallon of hot water.

I have the hoover automatic dual vac 5. this is the 3rd hoover rug cleaner i purchased and always the same problem the spray underneth the rotator bars hardly dispenses and the floor hardly gets wet, this...

The carpet is not intended to get soaked, like what you see with a spray application. If you are seeing a stream of water in the nozzle/tank during the recovery stroke, this is working properly.

Hoover Dual V steam vac model F7425-900 won't dispense detergent

Check the spring loaded valve at the bottom of the detergent bottle.
Push it up with your finger or a pencil or some such thing and see
if fluid comes out. If it does, then the problem is the valve or tubing I
would suspect.

I have a Hoover STeam Vac Dual V. Replaced the water tank-no problem. but water still pours out through the bottom. when idle, when off, when running. dont need to press the lever. Help!

Te dual V models have an electric pump and 2 solenoids that control the soap and water to dispense. The problem you describe, sounds like the water solenoid is stuck open. and would need to be serviced by a repair shop.

I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
You cannot replace the spring loaded value on the soap dispenser – it is a whole assembly and would need to replace the entire tank, you can buy them new or sometimes a local vacuum dealer may have a good used one on hand and that would work as well – check the yellow pages for a local vacuum dealer or Hoover dealer for replacement of the part.
