I am not able to connect to the internet using GPRS from the BSNL net work in INDIA I can browse the net thro the cellphone ,connecting the net thro GPRS in the laptop is not succeeding.I tried bluetooth connectivity and thro' the chord
Do you know if the GPRS from BSNL is using a proxy or not? If it uses a proxy or to find out, go to Start > Settings > Connections > Connections then tap on Managemyproxysettings (If it says setup my proxy server it probably isnt using one and may be another issue.)
It will give you the proxy address and port which needs to be setup on the computer to get access. If it does have a proxy then follow the following steps:
On the computer go to Start > ControlPanel > InternetOptions > Connections tab and click LanSettings at the bottom.
Put a check where it says use proxy and enter the proxyaddress and port that we find on the device then click OK and OK and test.
Note: If you see something like 192.168.1.1:8080, everything before the : is the proxy and after the : is the port. Also, if you connect to a different connection later, these proxy settings can prevent you from connecting, so remove them if your not using the device as the modem anymore.
