It should be a simple fix. Start your laptop and pay attention to the screen. Press the F12 key (or F11) to enter "SETUP" then find the NUMLOC command and make sure that its DISABLED or OFF. This will turn this option off andyou will only be able to use the number's keys on the top of the keyboard. Be careful when entering SETUP. You don't want to change anything you don't have to.
Hey kencfrancis, I actually bought magnetic versacheck ink refill kit at Office Max. Don't know if they have this chain where u live though.I remember I had to purchase a versacheck kit or packet. It had a variety of check styles included with the black ink only. I found it in their clearance isle. Killer deal @ around $25.cause the ink refill and the blank checks cost over $25 individually. Hope this helps.
The video card and modem card should have come with a CD with the drivers on it.
If you have these CDs then place the CD in your CD drive. The setup program for the drivers may come up automatically. If it does not then browse to the setup program with Windows Explorer you will almost always find the setup program at D:\setup.exe.
Run this program and select 'Install' when it comes up or else just keep clicking 'Next', depending on with style of setup program it is.
If you don't have the disks you will have to acquire the driver setup files by downloading them from the internet.
Once you acquire the driver setup files just execute them and follow the same instructions I gave above.
You will have to acquire drivers for these devices.
I take it you are trying to get on a wireless network with her computer. Sounds like your network is password protected (it should be). You need to find that password and give it to her. If you don't know how to access the router from your computer, go to the website of the manufacturer of the router and look for the instructions. The particular thing you are looking for is wireless security setup.
You'll need a computer with Firewire, aka IEEE1394. These cables don't have an end that is specifically computer or VCR ends, but they have an A for Alpha and a B size. A style connectors are the larger ones shown in the picture below.
After the cable is connected you'll need an editing program on the computer. Windows computers can use Windows Movie Maker, Mac Can use iMovie. Once connected you'll use the capture feature to get the video onto the computer.
