I am replacing the bearings, but I cant get the securing bolt undone. HELP!!!

some machines had a left hamd thread on the drum shaft. you would need to turn this clockwise to undo it. look carefully at teh thread you can see to find out which way it goes.

once you can see which way to turn it to undo, you may have to tap the spanner sharply with a hammer to free the nut. you will probably find that the belt pulley is threaded and will have to be unscrewed as well

See if the bottom can be opened up. If so see if the belt is connected and what condition it is in. Check for frays and glazing. Use a flashligh and make sure your machine is unplugged. If the belt looks good, turn your machine on and see if the belt is turning. You may need to mark your belt with a red permanent marker. If your belt is fine then it is most likely the bearings. The belt can be replaced relatively easily. You will remove the pulley nearest you by remvoing the bolts and then replacing the belt. Install bolts and make sure belt has proper tightness.

Washing machine drive belt keeps coming off indesit wib111. the nut which holds the drum and the whell keeps also undoing, no matter how tight i do it up.

Try putting some locktite on the thread of the bolt. Loctite is a liquid you can buy to lock bolts into there threads.Alternativley the pulley that the belt runs on may be worn & sloppy in the centre where it goes on the metal may need a new pulley as well as Loctite..but try the Loctite first.

Loud pop (sounded like a gunshot) during final spin cycle than heard constant noise. Does this sound like a busted bearing or belt? The tumble wheel is now very loose (easy to move and turn inside washing...

if the drum is very easy to turn with no resistance then the belt is likely broken and needs replacing. This is like changing the fan belt on a car where you loosen the bolts on the motor and hinge it towards the drum. Once the belt is in position, lever the motor back away from the drum to tension the belt and tighten the bolts.

How easy is it to change the drum bearings on my indesit wil163s?

you will need to remove the pulley first, the screw in the middle will need a knock to release the loctite.
you will then need to remove the spider assembly, that's the metal cross the bearings are sitting in. there are bolts set around the drum. spray the bearings shaft with oil to help removal, and you may need to hammer the spider as you remove it to loosen it. be careful of the heater.
then knock the bearings and seal out and do the reverse proceedure to put back together.

Ariston al1256t bearing replacement

I just did this on a different model - it is a normal (right-hand) thread

This is best done with the machine lying in its front.

1 - If it's a Torx screw (probably a T40), buy a torx bit for a rachet spanner - Halfrauds do them for about a fiver - you may need an adapter as well if your rachet is 1/2 in drive. This is far better than using a bit in a screwdriver handle.

2 - Heat the pulley around the screw (careful use of blowlamp) as it's fitted with thead lock compund and this helps to soften it.

3 - If that doesn't do it, try a cold chisel and hammmer to knock it around - you need to break the thread lock initially. You might need to replace the bolt after this :-) and you need to be careful not to break the alloy pulley.

4 - If after removing the screw the pulleyt doesn't come off, try heat again and wiggle it off rather than a straight pull.

Bear in mind that after removing the pulley spider, getting the old bearings out and the one ones in is also best done with gentle heating and is not a trivial job.

Use blue thread lock compound when reassembling as this will come off easier next time.

Whole job, start to end took me took 3 1/2 hours
