- I have the same problem.Unfortunately the Advent 5311 only has 1 memory module slot.
Can a 2GB chip be installed to replace the 1GB chip??

Your Laptop is using DDR2 Memory, just find your nearest retailer that sells memory and go buy you a chip, ur laptop ships with 1024mb of ram as standard, if you want to get a decent boost pretty cheap then i would just buy another 1gig chip and put it in beside the one already there.
Not sure what your system maxes out at but the average is 4gig of ram so you could try a couple of 2 gig chips if you feel you need that much ram
