open heat error sounds like the fuser lamp is blown.
The fuser lamp is inside the hot roller at the back which melts the toner onto the page. It is not really a user serviceable part, you would need someone qualified to repair/replace the fuser.
open the back cover and you find a two wire connector just near ribbon connector it is thermistor connector the printer is sensing this connector as open or not connected explore and fix.
