We currently have T7316E 16 & 8 button telephones. we have phone system on inverter power & then the inverter konked out so the phone system shut down on us and we lost some of our programming. we had it programmed to forward calls to cell phone which is needed in our industry. the way it worked before was to select "Feature, 4, then 7, then 9 & the cell number" but now when i try it i get a message saying invalid number. is there a setting somewhere i am missing. here is how i got settings set. Fwd no answer… Fwd on busy… DND on busy : N Hands free :None HF answerback :Y Pickup grp :None Page zone :1 Paging :Y D-Dial : Set1 Priority call :N Hotline :None Aux. ringer :N Allow redirect : Y Redirect ring : Y ATA Settings SM supervisor :N --End of List –

Call forwarding is often enabled by dialing *72 followed by the telephone number to which calls should be forwarded. Once someone answers, call forwarding is in effect. If no one answers or the line is busy, the dialing sequence must be repeated to effect call forwarding. Call forwarding is disabled by dialing *73. This feature requires a subscription from the telephone company. Also available in some areas is Remote Access to call forwarding, which permit the control over call forwarding from telephones other than the subscriber's telephone. #73 is a a feature you use on a telephone line to cancel call forwarding (cfw) of an outside call (some codes may differ). You need to have the dial tone of that outside line to cancel the cfw. to cancel the cfw of a norstar set (internal calls to extension) just press the cfw key or press 'feature #4'
Actually it's your telephone company forwarding the calls. With many phone companies, you dial *73 on your home phone to cancel the call forwarding. If that doesn't do it, contact your telephone company for their instructions regarding call forwarding.

The Nortel call forwarding (feature 4) is for forwarding the ringing and intercom from one extension to another.ex. if you were going to be working in the conference rm. instead of at your desk,with the forward on to the conference rm. extension, the calls you get at your desk will transfer to the conference rm. phone. Call forwarding through your service provider is done by accessing the telephone line you wish to forward, dial *72 (you should get dialtone reordered)and dial the telephone number to where you want the calls to be forwarded to. the party on where your forwarding the line to has to answer the line for the forward to take place. to remove call forwarding , access the line you have the forward on and dial * 73, you should recieve a stuttered dialtone for confirmation that the service is off
If your telephone rings when you are on a call you will have to go into programming on the system and set DND on Busy to "Y" it will be set to "N" at the moment hence your phone rings when you are on a call, be carefull if your phone is the only phone to ring on incomming calls if you get a second call comming into system when you are on a call there will be no audiable ringing on any telephone to aleart you to this second i/c call.
To send a call to another telephone within your system, or to an external telephone. You may not be able to transfer a call on an external line to an external telephone, depending on the capabilities of the lines. 1. Make or answer a call. 2. Press the feature button then press 70. 3. Call the person you want to transfer the call to. 4. Stay on the line if you wish to speak to the person first. 5. Press the Release button to complete the transfer. If an external call is transferred to a busy internal or network extension, or is not answered after a few rings, the call automatically rings you back.
