Front loading washers do not do well on the new "soft" flooring that is installed in so many homes. We placed a thick commercial style rug with thick rubber backing all the way under ours which was sitting on Pergo and it stopped the problem. This wasn't my idea, it was what the repairman told me AFTER a service call! You should be able to purchase such a rug at a hardware store or a large department store in a small size. The rug just needs to really stick to the floor.

Good luck to you and Thank you for using Fix Ya!

My whirlpool Duet 9750 takes a long time to spin out and has a difficult time trying to balance

I owned a Whirlpool Duet and had spin/balance problems when I washed heavy and light items together. During a deep freeze my drain hose froze. Did everything I could think of until I ran hot water through washer. It took awhile to thaw. If your floor is weak, you will have a lot of vibration and walking. Hope this helps.

Our Whirlpool Duet Frontload washer, which sits on top of the drawer base, shakes hard enough during the spin cycle that the washer moves 1-2 inches each load. The floor is marble. We're searching for a...

It appears your vibration damper(s) has failed in this instance.

For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...

FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.

PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.

If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.

Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.

If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.

We purchased a Kenmore washer about three years ago and it hasn't operated correctly since the purchase. During the agitation process it vibrates intensly. It appears to me that whatever was intended to...

I didn't see a Sears Parts site for a prefix 111 but here is the one for a washer (Whirlpool / Kenmore) with the prefix 110.

http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/getModel!retrieve.pd?pop=true&modelNumber=110.27642600

If you look at the section on "Machine Base Parts" you'll see a number of springs and vibration pads.

It's possible that one or more of the springs or pads has come loose or broken.

In order to get to them you have to remove the cabinet.

Here is an illustrated description of how to do it.

Also see the Whirlpool Service Manual for top load washers. It has a troubleshooting section that describes the reasons for excessive walking or vibration.

http://shared.whirlpoolcorp.com/assets/pdfs/literature/Repair%20Part%20List%20-%20W10114743.pdf

Also check that the "Shipping Pins" have broken loose. These pins are designed to be broken during installation and they should fall into clear plastic catch tubes.

Whirpool Duet "walking"

Hi, most of the time this can be a simple as a overload that will dramatically shake this type of washer. due to its front load design, it is recommeded to load accordingly to specs. overloading this type of washer will induce walking/excessive vibration during the spin cycle.

Vibrating Whirlpool ghw9100lw2

At Lowes you can purchase foam rubber pads 4"X5" pack of two for $3.50. If walking forward and after cecking level and washer pads are tight, place half of one pad under each of the two front feet. Place the sticky side against washer feet. Solved my problem.

Washer vibrates and walks across the floor

Theres a few things you can do to stop it from walking.
but the best way i know is to use washer anchors.
Whirlpool part# 155P3 $22.95

Im going to assume that you have eaither the wfw8300 or wfw8400

the main differences is the suspention system in them. the 8300 uses a 5 point system that work but really you should only use the washer on solid flooring like concrete. the 8400 uses a 6 point with better shocks.

if you have this washer on a main floor with basment underneith it you might want to check the floor. grab a glass of water when it starts to shake and walk and put it on the floor, if the water is jumping then the floor is the problem.

eaither way the anchor kit i have listed above will stop your issues with it moving and walking.

Washer is "walking" during the spin cycle

I have the same Duet that vibrates heavily during spin cycle. Leveled the unit with no success (our unit is mounted on the high base). Long story short, I went to Lowes and purchased a package of 4"X5" self stick foam rubber pads called Grippers by Wasman Consumer Group and paid a low price of $3.50. Since the washer walked forward, I cut one of the two Pads in the package in half, removed the sticky side paper protector and centered a half, sticky side to washer pad, to each front washer pad. The problem was solved.

I made sure the round floor pads of the washer were tight and the unit was level before attaching the Grippers. Hope this helps.

Washer appears to be out of balance

Double check the screws holding the washer to the pedestal to make sure they are tight and make sure all the jam nuts on the leveling legs are tight. Loose jam nuts are the most common cause of this.

If they are tight, loosen the right front leg and screw it up until the weight is off the floor. Then run it back down until it contacts the floor. Put the washer in high spin and tighten it down to the floor until you get the spot where there is the least vibration. Tighten jam nut, and check it again in spin with a load of clothes.

Post back and let me know how this works.
