Probably is the problem but check the high temperature cutout.

I had this washer for almost 2 yrs and you'll end up fixing things here and there. Well after some heavy research this error was supposedly the control box or some computer chip/loose connection. After taking apart all the pieces and reassembling, still err7 comes up. Turns out our daughter liked to open the door and pull down on it, causing a misalignment. There's lock that 'clicks' when you start a load to lock the door and I'm guessing there's a sensor that takes 5 seconds to detect if the door is closed properly. Our door was misaligned so the sensor tripped the circuit after 3 seconds of the water starting. I just press the door more with my knee and start the load. After 5 seconds I let go and all is well.

Look up the mfg website and see if they have a troubleshooting page or a support group. It may still be a warranty item check that as well

I service this machine before. There is no service manual for any Haier products.

You might want to change these parts out in the unit: Main PCB board, Heater Element, Thermostat and the Condenser.

I\'ve discovered how to get the cover open.

There are four grey inserts on the top of the machine that are used to store the power cable. If you pull these up and out

(takes a bit of force) they reveal four small star screws that are somewhat difficult to access. They can be undone with a

small long handled hex nut though.

Once the screws are undone, lift the cover carefully because the switch is connected to the top. Carefully put your hand inside

the machine, having made sure the device is disconnected, and push the switch through and out the top. Then write down how the

wires are connected, red and blue on the "O" side and for the two black connectors first make a small notch with any device or

wrap some coloured tape around it etc so that you know which is which (Though technically it shouldn\'t matter). The crimp curl

overs point away from each other. Pull the crimp ends off.

There are then three slightly larger star screws to remove. You\'ve now access to the devices internals.

Do in reverse to re-assemble.

There isn\'t actually much one can do once inside the device, it\'s suprisingly well made with very little dust penetration even

after a lot of abuse. Other than the difficult to get to screws I\'m impressed with Hoover.

I cannot find a MQU8057AEW in the Maytag library. I did find a MQU2056AEW that is 20 cu ft.
